Just to change what is developing into a nasty, acrimonious debate, I would like to attempt to introduce a bit of harmony, and declare I really, really like Rafael and hope he is very successful at our beloved club.

I like that, all I care for and desire is once again for our club to be successful no mattewr who is in charge.

to "bin off" a manager under contract means to sack which means to pay off which I responded to saying we couldn't have afforded to.

Rodgers has earned himself the time to continue. Nobody at Leicester would consider getting rid of him if they finished 8th or 9th or whatever this season.

Benitez hasn't earned that sort of leeway here.

I'll absolutely buy into the fact that he seems to know what he's doing - the early evidence is more promising than anyone we've had for years. There seems to be an actual plan, an identity and an understanding of what keeps the crowd happy at Everton. Sound. But he's Rafael Benitez - the crowd will not accept what they perceive as going backwards. Moshiri won't either, for that matter. Speak to any of the local journos and they'll tell you that Ancelotti's job was actually in question after the season finished. If he'd consider binning his Hollywood manager, he'll certainly consider getting shut of Benitez.

As I said though, this is all probably pointless, I'm 90% certain we won't have to worry about sacking anyone for a little while

Mid table security with the odd fight for Europe and its job safe for Benitez. I think he'll have us better than that and have us top half comfortably but even if we finished say 11th I think those expecting him to be given the bullet in his first 2 years will be in for dissapointment.

I think he'll do here what Moyes did IF given time and resources.

Work out what sacking him and his coaching staff off would have worked out as before you keep throwing libellous statements around.

But he wasn’t sacked. We didn’t pay him to join Real Madrid.
