Probably not, is the answer to the second one, seeing as he signed a new deal about a year ago. I wonder what he's thinking now, and I wonder why he didn't just sit tight for a bit if he really wanted to be here and nowhere else...

This is one FM 22 transfer edit I'm looking forward to .
Funny thing is that in the editor , there is a list of people the club consider legends , icons and favoured personnel .
There is another list which includes hated personel including Gerrard, Barmby , Gosling and guess who ?
The developer didn't change that from last year's game .
I know that this doesn't mean much to non football manager players but it amused me . Yes , I'm an uncool nerd .

I backed him at the start because i do that with every manager (except Allardyce). However after the Brentford game and also playing Coleman at left back while freezing out Digne he was done for me. I watched Digne for Villa today and thought what a dreadful decision it was to let him go, he looked good today.

Because he’s a good player. Despite what some nutters on here think, the French international left back is not a bad player. He was one of our better players, playing in an increasingly shambolic team. The fact anybody backed Rafael over Digne will be something I’ll never get my head around.

Is gosling really in the same bracket as the others? Bit harsh to lump him in with this manager and Slippy
 

If the club didn't have some sort of break clause after a year then it just continues to show the boards incompetence, the guy was desperate for the job and there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't have something in his contract that allows us to part ways for a very minimal sum (it should be nothing but the reality is that is unlikely).

Then why all the guff about "love affair" with Everton?! Bit patronizing, don't ya think. If he wanted to leave, fair enough. At least we got a decent-ish fee for him instead of the £4.50 we normally do. He seemed to suggest he was being pushed out by Rafael, in which case any EFC-loving player would have surely waited a bit to see how things panned out?

Odd situation either way.
