I highly doubt the contract stipulates that he cant defend himself publicly when his reputation is being tarnished. Even if it does, I highly doubt it will give Everton the power to cancel the contract and fire Rodriguez without severance payments

How many other players have contracts that state that they must keep their fitness status a secret?? There's no way he can't say "I was fit for Saturday and I'm fit for the next game".

Regardless of him, we were without several key players today. But again, shows that hard work doesn’t really get you all the way.

Townsend, Iwobi, Gray and Rondon is our front four for the foreseeable. If we came up against a side with that attack, we wouldn’t be worried

Spot on mate. I know you dislike Benitez but I think you speak sense on here. I’m not a fan either but will continue to go and support the team and I have to say I’ve enjoyed the first few games of this season, much more than the past few seasons.

Today was not on Benitez and it wouldn’t have been on any manager they’d thrown in over the summer. The squad is very very poor when you go past the first XI and that isn’t down to any manager that’s been in the job for 2 months!!

Let’s hope Moshiri throws a few quid the managers way in Jan now that we’ve got additional funding for the stadium, or it could be a long season.

That squad today was a joke and shows how far away we are. No matter who the manager was today, they’d have struggled with that available to them.

We were holding our own at 0-0 with 4 key players missing until that clown Digne gifts them 2x soft goals.

People need to get over their personal agenda against the manager and realise he's not making us a top 6 team with that paper thin squad and awful mentality of a number of our players.

Digne was a disgrace tonight.

‘Holding our own’ - is that all we aspire to be mate? And yes, for the first 60 mins I think we did alright, but we really hardly threatened. It was just a nothing performance

Thanks mate but I will say I don’t actually dislike Benitez the man. And as a manager I think he is actually a good candidate for the way the squad is right now

that being said I see him having significant flaws and ways of thinking that I just don’t see as being sustainable in the modern game. I don’t think he’s a dinosaur, though, and I think he ‘gets’ the club. I just think ‘getting the club’ is way overhyped

100% though, our squad is dead thin in certain areas and that today is not on Benitez
