Speaking as someone who was once a wool but doesn’t even live close enough now to be classed as that Everton‘s last 20 years odd of performances alone have been a pretty bitter pill to swallow lol

I have no problem with none scouser supporters but I don't understand why what seems the most bitter contingent on here are not even from the city are the most anti Benitez, I just don't get it.

You do realise he put iwobi upfront in the second half don't you?

I would have preferred a centre back up there and him just lump balls up for the second ball than Iwobi who offered nothing ever, (I still sometimes think of the arsenal managing directors grin when he got an 18 million) another Simon davies does nothing going forward, does nothing going back and exists for the sake of existing earning a living

Thanks mate but I will say I don’t actually dislike Benitez the man. And as a manager I think he is actually a good candidate for the way the squad is right now

that being said I see him having significant flaws and ways of thinking that I just don’t see as being sustainable in the modern game. I don’t think he’s a dinosaur, though, and I think he ‘gets’ the club. I just think ‘getting the club’ is way overhyped

100% though, our squad is dead thin in certain areas and that today is not on Benitez

I didn’t want him anywhere near the place mate but think he’s doing a good job with the squad he’s been given. It makes sense now why Moshiri went for him given the financial constraints we’ve had this summer.

Hopefully with a few quid next summer, he’ll kick us on. I just think he’s had his hands tied behind his back since joining.

And I did dislike him immensely prior til a few weeks ago haha! I’ll get behind the team though and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the style after the garbage we’ve had over the past few years. Today was disappointing as we’d been in the game for 60 mins. But when I saw that lineup I could only see the game going one way.

There have been blues who have turned coat and gone to the dark side in the past, some of a high profile too. Such is life.

I've never witnessed anything like the traitorous behaviour of some over recent times though. The shame!

Doesn't matter if you are a blue, half blue half red or whatever, the manager got it wrong v Villa.

I can agree with this a bit, I think the subs didn't impact the game at all, but I can't go at him too hard, as our defenders were a joke today and not all of that is on him. He definitely needs to sort out our defenders however, as we've gone from one of the best defenses in the league to one of the worst, and the complete opposite in attack lol its one game and ill try not to be too beaten down by it considering the injuries, and hopefully the boys respond and we absolutely batter Norwich. Medical team needs sacking soon as well.
