I think with BMD under construction the owners wont want a repeat of Silva/Koeman and being sat in the relegation spots fearing a potential relegation scrap.
When Ancelotti was hired Moshiri said the job is too big for a novice manager and he needed an experienced manager to be able to handle the pressure from the fans.
Carlo had a job for life we all know that - he walked and we went for a similiar type of experienced manager in Benitez.
For me providing we are in and around 7th-12th that'll be good enough until the stadium is built.
In hindsight I bet Moshiri always regrets sacking and paying off Alladyce for finishing 8th to hire Silva, give him £200 million to spend to only need to fire and pay him off 18 months later - once bitten twice shy as they say.

These are diffferent times and circumstances. There's a need to just consolidate at mid-table / top half while the finances remain tight and the stadium build is looming.
The only way Benitez doesn't see out his contract is if he has had enough of the situation at Everton.
