Yes looks like it. According to @TonyBarretTimes all the journals were told the fee was to be £6.25m last week. This teams of another Everton transfer shambles river plate probably knew how desperate we are for signings an increased the fee. £9.5 is a big gamble let's just hope he's no Alcaraz.

They can't just pretend.

That said, they've gone for the headline figure on purpose. They could have done the old "undisclosed" trick, but haven't, so it tells you what the reasoning behind this is.

Got to assume it's to cover their arses on the basis nothing but a loan at best is following this.

It looks like it's been inflated in the media for PR purposes ("look, we spend money too').

I suppose next years accounts will clarify it.

If there's outgoings they'll probably use the 'undisclosed' option to mask exactly how much is clawed back.


That all being said, if they get Lennon + a playmaker in today too I'm not arsed which way they cut it.
