Hey guys, something of note:
This is the first time, together with Del, that we have officially disclosed the fee for a player, since...Bilyaletdinov, i think.
Not even sure of that. I can remember we wrote on the OS that we sold AJ for £11m or something.

Methinks we are disclosing the high fee for Funes Mori as a defence mechanism for not spending that much more otherwise today.

Tin foil hat, mate.

Unrelated, the club have confirmed the fee for Leandro Rodriguez was £33.7m

There is no way the fee is £9.5m. That's an inflated figure to make it look like we've spent something this window.

This board absolutely does my head in.
£9.5m is £9.5m - whether it's paid over 5 years or not he's still costing the same

For several reasons this isn't quite the normal type of deal where you could expect the fee to be spread over the term of the contract

1) if he is entitled to a % of the fee he wouldn't want that to feature via his wages ,nor would the club meaning that unless he becomes a football creditor that money will have been paid up front
2) this is a non EU transfer meaning VAT on the whole fee will be paid by Everton as soon as the next VAT return is made

The initial outlay will be way above 20% of whatever sum my guess is more like 50%

It's not tin foil, it's a clear rhetorical strategy. Consider the mass media market management being put in by the marketing department every day, it's all careful maneuvering. Granted, they're a few notches lower on the seriousness scale, but communications conveyed by a football club are not far from being communications work carried out by a major political party.

Tim Howard and Darron Gibson have one a shed load more trophies between them than he has, ones absolutely dogshit and the other is a drunk.

I've kind of lost where I was going with this Aaron.
haha it's okay mate.

By the way, howards only got more individual honours, not trophies, i think.

I thought it was pretty obvious I was joking.

Let's face it mate, nothing can compete with winning the Brotherhood Cup.

PS: I never knew it was called the Brotherhood cup until I googled it, what an utterly terrible name.

At £9.5m, my eyebrows are acting as a toupee over the bald head ........... Would have thought Ashley Williams or any other known PL quality CB wouldn't have cost a great deal more. Strange one this
Problem is that Swansea values him at 25m, which is absolute crazy
