Whilst it's possible that the basic fee made be spread the VAT , which works differently for players from outside the EU,and other tax liabilities , agents fees etc will have to be paid up front
Is there anything left? If the fee is very very small maybe but otherwise it's at most going to be a loan

Not necessarily. Agents fees can be deferred and performance related.

A fascinating update from Andy Hunter about Everton’s signing of Ramiro Funes Mori – if the suggestions prove true, this is a quite mindboggling state of affairs:
It is being suggested that the reason Ramiro Funes Mori’s price increased from £6.25m to £9.5m was because his River Plate contract entitled him to 50% of any transfer fee and, rather than risk the deal collapsing, Everton decided to pay the extra £3.25m with no central defensive alternatives lined up at this late stage in the window. Also claimed Everton only became aware of Funes Mori’s entitlement late last week. Everton have not confirmed or denied the allegation.

Fascinating?

Mate, managers get money from agents to sign players. That's another way of raising the transfer fees, under the fee of the agent, who will split the money afterwards.

The bulk, if not all the fees charged by the agent in respect of the transfer itself will almost certainly be paid on day one. Yes by the very way it works some of the players wages and as a consequence the agents% can be spread but that doesn't alter the fact that Everton will have had to pay way over 20% of whatever fee has been agreed

Was listening to that Hawksby and Jacobs before , a few sly digs at Everton and they were gonna have Tim Vickery on after 2pm to give his thoughts on Mori , did anyone listen to this ? And is there a way of listening to it again ?

You can relate agents fees to 'sweat equity'; this is why they can be deferred. The fees are only liable after the work is completed.

That means any associated taxes are also only due after the work is completed. After when payments were due.

This is probably the cause of the delay and a few complications, negotiating the contracts for payment.

Despite what Andy Hunter has said to probably try and embarrass Everton - I am not concerned.

Negotiating a contract - about WHEN the fees are due is no issue.

BTW 'sweat equity' would be a criteria in trying to determine if the fee is a legitimate fee or not (e.g. a bribe). Also the nature of the work would be covered in the contracts between the club and the agent/player as needed.

I think I would have preferred Johnny Evans for 3m more.

I hope this guy is decent because it's a lot of money. Shaqiri was only 3m more.

Going a bit far.

People should not listen to what andy hunter is saying.

One thing everyone knows. Everton are TIGHT.

They won't spend a penny until they need to.

No different here.

Its all about CASHFLOW. That will determine if we can sign anyone else today.

If Everton have badly handled the cashflow issue then we won't be signing anyone else.

I am 100% they have not and most of this fee is deferred for payment.

Secondly.

Remember I said that John Stones was not to be sold. I am 100% now on this as I was on there earlier; that this being cashflow is the issue now.

Let's face it mate, nothing can compete with winning the Brotherhood Cup.

PS: I never knew it was called the Brotherhood cup until I googled it, what an utterly terrible name.
You can tell Arteta is thinking "Kin Xabi's going to rip me to shreds for winning this"

I find it amazing that you find the time to run a business and chat bubbles on here at the same time.
