nope. but he should be able to cover left back at least. and if stones or jags gets injured i want to see mori coming on rather than browning or galloway.

£9.5m indicates to me he is ready, else we should have signed jonny evans for £8mill
Mori is obviously going to be ahead of browning etc, but he is still going to need time to adapt, not sure what you're getting at mate.

But he'll barely have spent any time off pitch familiarizing himself with our other players since he is off with Argentina and likely jetlagged on his return. Regardless of their quality people just don't come preprogrammed to understand the tactics of the team they are joining - that takes time.

Often a lesser quality player who is familiar with the system is better than a more talented player who is new. It is a team, rather than individual, game after all especially for defenders.

the defence is literally the hardest place to come and settle in to, too.

Got to learn how your partners in the back line play, get used to the tactics and then the physical aspect of the premier league, takes time.

Something that has not been mentioned on here is the fact that mori has a reputation for being a bit of an enforcer on the pitch, just wonder if this time he needs to adapt includes not having a red card nailed on every time he set's foot on the pitch. 1 red and 17 yellows in 50 Argentine games probably equate to 3 reds and god knows how many yellows with our refs.

Who are you referring to? Valencia, Figueroa, and Palacios were already at the club when Martinez got to Wigan. Rodallega did alright. Boselli was a disaster. Di Santo's a nothing player. We know about Alcaraz.
Di Santo was poo but always looked like he was capable of becoming a good player if he could improve his finishing... isn't he doing well in Germany now?

Martinez obviously has quite strong contacts in South America...he brought a number of players over when he was at Wigan, and before that as well, I think.

Whilst Martinez signed a few South Americans, Mori is only the second player Martinez has ever signed directly from a South American team (Rodriguez is now the third). The only player Martinez had ever signed directly from South America was Boselli. Every other South American he signed (at least while he was at Wigan) came from a European club I believe.
