Tim Vickery was just on Talksport chatting to Georgi Bingham and he brought up this game saying " These are the type of games Romiro looks a good defender, when he doesn't have to defend. He is just an inferior Alcaraz "

Then he went on for a while slating the Argentine league and how the quality of football over the last ten years has decimated due to European and middle east clubs taking all the talent. He then said Romiro was left alone for a reason, not good enough.

He really doesn't like him.

Mori definitely slotted Tim's Mrs

Really I thought you were the newly appointed expert on south American football
To be fair Rodriguez' are here what Smith are there..

It's Gonzalo Rodriguez who plays for Fiorentina, he was a highly regarded CB when young, similar to Ayala but injuries [Poor language removed] his career.

Tim Dickery does seem to have the knife out for Funes Mori.

Don't mind Tom Mockery, the man is a completely clueless clown. Like i said in Leandro's thread, Funes is a completely different player to what this pathetic attempt of a journalist describes him to be.

.....He's asked to provide his opinion and only time will tell if he's right or not.

Kranevitter won't leave River until after club World cup and is the model for transfers to Europe in the future.River will maintain 40% of the player. This will allow River to benefit from the higher prices in the old continent. I didnt see the game how did Funes Morí and the right full back Casco whom River have just bought from Newells Old Boys do?

Was very impressed with Casco, only watched the first half but he stood out to me. Funes Mori didn't have much defending to do but on the ball he was good.

Vickery has never forgiven Martinez for not seeking his 'advice' on signing Boselli.

"Was commenting on Martinez's ability to sign South American talent but interesting from a Wigan perspective.

"It seems to me that Roberto Martinez has a blind spot when it comes to bringing players straight in from South America.

"He dropped an almighty brick with Mauro Boselli at Wigan. He was their record signing, and I don't think he scored a Premier League goal for them. I had a Premier League manager get in contact with me and say: 'Should I buy this player?' There were agents touting him around. I said: 'Don't go anywhere near him. He can't do it in the Premier League and he won't.' Martinez, for all his wisdom and experience, didn't see that.

"You'd have thought, after an experience like that, he'd have been scarred for life, but he's gone back twice. He's brought in Leandro Rodriguez from River Plate in Montevideo, and said that he's played lots of games in a really competitive league. Well if he thinks the Uruguayan league is competitive, he's living in cloud cuckoo land.""

Games and time will clarify for us how good or bad this player is. Then we will see if the signing shows RM right or Vickery.

Not sure the comment that he is worse than Alcaraz goes down well.

This thread on that site is also interesting, mentions Kone a few times, but also seems Vickery called it right.

Wigan and Boselli aside, Romi is playing in a much better side and Martinez now has more experience of the top flight, surly he has to have a better idea on who to buy now then he did back then?
