Very true, and he's also been wrong before about various players' chances of making it in England, so it's not like his word is absolute gospel.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to have an opinions and personally I'm in no position to refute it . My issue isn't with the opinion rather the way it's been repeatedly delivered , out of interest have you heard any of his posturing rather than just reading reports ? If you haven't it might change your opinion , I might not of course but it certainly irritated me but in fairness that could just be my age & unresolved anger coming to the fore.

It's the way he's doing it. It doesn't come across as a measured opinion; it comes across like he's done his wife or something.

Why should we care about What Vickery says?

What we have here is Schrodinger's footballer.

At this moment, he is both the greatest defender in World football and the biggest liability ever seen.
I would imagine he's somewhere in between.
It's only when we observe him in a blue shirt will we know what impact he will have on the team's fortunes.

I'll give Martinez his due, he's pretty good at signing cult heroes though.
