so vickery has an anti Martinez /everton agenda ha ha

I've absolutely no idea , I do know sometimes people don't get on but I've no idea if it's the case . I do know that in my opinion the Vickery comments seemed to indicate he was being less than objective to be honest . I've heard him at least twice and it took me aback , to list it again would mean repeating myself but it certainly didn't sound like a standard criticism.

It's not a big deal but the player turning out to be a disappointing signing wouldn't necessarily alter my opinion as that's not what I've taken issue with.

We don't care what the RS say.

Why should we care about What Vickery says?

What we have here is Schrodinger's footballer.

At this moment, he is both the greatest defender in World football and the biggest liability ever seen.
I would imagine he's somewhere in between.
It's only when we observe him in a blue shirt will we know what impact he will have on the team's fortunes.

I'll give Martinez his due, he's pretty good at signing cult heroes though.

I understand your point but believe me: I love him but definitely he is not the greatest defender in the world. And I don't think any River Plate fan could say that talking seriously. Yes I'm sure he has the talent be a good one or a very good one there.

It would be a pitty fans put on him too high expectations because could affect him. He will make mistakes for sure but I'm convinced his character is a winner one. He already demostrated that.

Finally, reading all thread, I'm dreaming on hear Tim Vickery talking about english players level playing outside UK with the same "passion" than he does with Argentine league and players. He doesn't have enough balls to do it.

don't worry mate, most everton fans wont expect too much, too soon.

He isn't perfect from the games i watched, but certainly talented.

We have a history of making decent premier league defenders here, i'm sure with time and adjustment he'll be a good player for us for many years.

Very true, and he's also been wrong before about various players' chances of making it in England, so it's not like his word is absolute gospel.

Perhaps it's good to have somewhat low expectations.

Spot on really. Most of the south american players seems to all have "potential" and its hit and miss whether they make it, and he generally says that.

He said Countinho was too one footed and light weight to cut it in the prem. He also rates or slates most of those players Porto/Benfica buy on the cheap and flog for £30mill.

We'll see.

Don't worry. It was tongue in cheek. ;)
