After Baines he's the best LB in the squad and Baines will be on the decline soon. Garbutt is nowhere near Oviedo and Galloway and Mori are not permanent solutions. I don't see how he's surplus to requirements.

I just think he will be this time next year. Maybe I'm wrong, we'll have to wait and see.

Baines is our first choice left back for another season at least, maybe two. Garbutt has been given a new 5 year contract and a year out on loan, the plan is obviously for him to come back ready to be back up for Baines, and he'll be favoured over Oviedo in my opinion. We really don't need more than two players to specialise in each position especially when you have others who can adequately fill in.

Wouldn't be surprised for Galloway/Oviedo to be fit and for Martinez to play three at the back v Chelsea.

Rather play him LB if Oviedo/Gallo are injured than Browning getting roasted by Pedro/Willian. Solidity > athleticism.

Dunno mate, IF Martinez is back to his first season confidence can expect to see something unusual as he did have a tendency to do a tactical switch just for one game - Arsenal with Lukaku springs to mind but sure their was a few others too.

Guys match fit, no language barrier at all, and slapping him on a one on one job to shut out Pedro i could see happening - especially as the other options are either injured or would get targeted big time in the case of Galloway - whose confidence must have taken a knock last game he started.

Just wouldn't be surprised at all to see it is what i'm saying, think he will go with two wingers as well to try isolate Ivanovic, Maybe Del starting against him

That's true i guess, i think it'll probably matter how much rest he gets tonight and how he trains with the squad tomorrow morning, if all goes well he'll probably start but if they have the slightest of doubts i think galloway will play, don't think they really want to risk Funes Mori against pedro etc if he isn't fully fit, especially since it isn't his natural position
