Would be good to see him get 90 mins maybe against Reading. My big fear is Coleman getting injured and Martinez putting Stones at RB to fit Mori in like we did at the end of the game yesterday. Stones has to be first name on the sheet in the centreback position every time. Mori should cover injuries this season then look to come in more regularly if Jagielka starts to slow.

Rather see us go to a back 3 with stones/jags/mori get lennon right galloway left bark/barry/mccarthy centre and play del or kev off lukaku

Galloway's done a lovely job at fullback, but I think it would be asking a bit too much to ask him to play as a wingback. That's the only problem with going three at the back right now -- we don't have anyone healthy capable of covering the left flank.

I must admit Dave, that once you have picked your favourite....or in this case, your target, you are pretty consistent in getting those regular digs in. ;)
It is conspicuous by its absence in Everton's defence. Someone has to do it, but they're all as quiet as church mice. I'm convinced it costs us a handful of goals each season. There has to be a person who calls to and pushes and points his fellow defenders into position and someone who hands a bit of stick out if it all goes wrong.

We've not seen that in our defence for years and it's a big void that needs filling. Let's hope Mori has the personality for it.

You've seen as much of him as I have Dave, but all the reports about him before he signed were that he needs an organiser next to him, not that he was the one to provide that. We shall see I guess

No, not what I read. Even Vickery stated that was a strength: that he wasn't slow in making his views be known.

Stones will be that player in time, if he stays.

After the Matic goal where Barkley failed to close him down it happened again, Matic had the ball in space and I'm pretty sure Stones was screaming at Barkley to close him down. Captain material.

Good news that. However, how long will he realistically be here for?

Just the fact that he made that run, comfortably bringing the ball out like that in the space of 15mins on his debut in a foreign country and against the no1 team in that country put a smile on my face and shows the lad aint suffering confidence in his ability, how many other defenders around the world would of tried that on there debut, it would be more just dont want to make mistake going through there mind. but as has been mentioned i would like to see the lad get a start against reading, be a good welcome to english football seeing how he fits into a more rougher game. would love to see him rip his shirt off when he scores to show a shirt thanking mr vickery for his faith in his ability

Well, self proclaimed South American football overlord Tim Vickery stated it was his forte (early indications do back that up).

*The Vickery comments were from a linked radio interview late last week on here.

He certainly has guts, look up this vid, he makes a run to tell Gignac to stop moaning in the first leg of the Libertadores final away in Mexico. Plus you can see a bit of his defensive abilities.
