I think he really lost against Skrtel in the first half (he won only one header very close to the endline, he grazed the ball and then hit Skrtel's body) but he could manage the situation in the second one. In my opinion was the kind of match where you as a fan know that a newcomer will be enough good when he settles finally.

His opinion is worth no more than martin Samuel , any of those other whoppers or probably any anyone on here but because he lives in South American he's viewed as some kind of top expert.

I delighted the lad has done well and I think he looks a very defeat defender , that tackle was top class. I also reckon he's the type who will be a real favs favourite & I certainly see him netting the odd goal.

Did well again. I think he will settle in well next to Stones in the long term.

At times he looked to struggle with the physicality of Skirtl, which is no disgrace but he will need to work on being more physical.

Given he's just starting in the league though he did very well. As the Echo said yesterday for half the money that Sakho was signed for he looked ok.

Vickery is based in Rio to be fair and let's face facts that's about the same distance as London to Moscow. I wouldn't say there are too many Russian fútbol experts in London
Allowing for the rivalry between Brasil and Argentina at all levels he obviously sees River in the Copa Libertaores and Sudamericana it's simply too much to be an expert on both leagues.
So Vickerys view of Argentina fútbol is very much a Brasilian one and open to both that countries and England's prejudices.We are all open to such things unfortunately it's a real learning curve for me to read some of the posts
