great to see this fella doing well, hasn't he had a good 6 months
He's had some eighteen months winning an Argentina league,Copa Sudamericana, Recopa Sudamericana, Copa Libertadores moving to Europe and now if not quite regular fighting for his place in La selección.today did well apart from one stupid header to Romero. This was a big big game in a Barranquilla over 30 degrees and high humidity where Martinos job was on the line.
Di Maria was man of the match v Brasil with Ramiro doing well. How did the media rate his performance? He got man of the match against Brazil didnt he?
Clarin wrote Gabriel Mercado had to left the pitch because he was very tired when indeed he had to be replaced because of a concussion (He had to go to hospital). So Zatara, what they think about Funes Mori maybe is not the best opinion to take.
Overall what La Nacion and Ole wrote is more fair with his performance.
Sorry guys, I know this is your national team but for the good of Everton then Ramiro needs to be trying these things out on international duty, not in the PL . He may not be the next Passarella but he may need to step up into big shoes when we sell Stones to Barca for £50 mill
I was of course half joking - Stones is pretty unique in terms of his age, style and confidence to take the ball further forward than most defenders would. Currently, if Stones can't play for whatever reason and Jagielka is fit , then Ramiero would play left CB and is likely to be the one encouraged to play the ball out of the back as Stones would. I'n this case I could see him playing like Stones but on the left with Jags more defensive. If Stones is out while Jags is still injured, not beyond possibility, the options would be Galloway as the left CB , Ramiro playing right CB , or Holgate as right centre back , Ramiro as left CB. In both these cases he would be the experienced defender with the young defender probably the one to push forward. It will be interesting to see how he develops for the rest of the season.?.... he has always played in Argentina terms as a 6 or a 3 playing on the left side while Stones is right sided. It would be dificult if not impossible for Ramiro to play Stones role.
The probability is Martino with his style of play encourages him while nobody in Europe outside of Barca would.Ramiro certainly doesnt lack confidence bur he has always played in Argentina terms as a 6 or a 3 playing on the left side while Stones is right sided. It would be dificult if not impossible for Ramiro to play Stones role.
That is very good news for Argentina.I am surprised, it is good news for England too this new attitude of playing. As an old guy I remember Bobby Moore who was a crack as we say a glorious player real quality so now we are seeing a return to this good style.I think Martinez will also be encouraging him, he has only ever signed "ball playing" centre backs for us and consistently says he wants players to take chances in games and attack + learn from any mistakes.
We have Jagielka and Stones who are RCB's as well as Browning and Holgate in reserve. Jagielka has been playing LCB to accommodate Stones (he also does this for England after Terry)....
So as primarily a LCB Mori would be competing with Jagielka only and has Galloway also coming through behind him.
Longer term i think its likely to see
Mori /Galloway
Stones / Holgate
All ball players and all seemingly willing to play the ball out and make forward runs.
Having a similar "philosophy" will only help Everton and Argentina and of course Mori.
Well they've done fine enough so far.Two ball playing centre-halves together just spells sudden doom for me.
