He carried Otamendi and Rojo, really read the game well.

I thought his positional play was ok. Otamendi and Rojo were out of position loads of times and Mori was there to cover most of the time.

Theyre in the group of players who'll be picked not matter what as soon as fit, but Tbf baines has been crap.

The defence is going to be England's achilles heal at the Euros. If you watch those that are doing well in the Premier league, Leicester and Spurs they make sure they have people back, mostly 4. As do Arsenal. The defence will need 'protecting'. Carrick and Dier would be good choices. Barkley, Rooney and Alli with Kane up top would seem the attacking option.

Smalling is having a better season than last but is not the bees knees. Cahill - Sunday league player lost without someone telling him what to do. Stones is shot on confidence and Jags is reliable defender but has his limitations.

Anyway, that's England's problem. I'm going to France for a week to cheer on the Republic and Northern Ireland.

I enjoyed last nights game in particular the first half. The second half descended into play acting and time wasting. Best team won, just.

Like @hullefc thought his positioning was largely fine last night. The whole backline was a touch "freeform" at set peices and Romero didn't seem to want to budge off his line or direct his defenders - even though the goal wasn't from the player RFM was marking, he had let his man get ahead of him so they clearly need to work on their routines. But he did a lot of good blocks and covering for other players as they wandered out of position.

The only really weird bit was when with the game coming to the close plus Chile pressing hard and only a narrow one goal lead he decided to go for a jog into the centre circle and straight into a mass of Chile players - who unsurprisingly took the ball off him and gratefully started another attack. Thankfully a teamate(Rojo?) got in a covering tackle but it could well have been a suicidal move.
