It's guesswork from the mirror because we haven't announced it.

He may not get a work permit (personally think he'll be sound) but the mirror have no idea.

also their story doesn't make sense.. which proves they're making it up.

They said we claimed to try and get a eu passport.. we didn't.. Martinez said we we're trying to get him on an exceptional talent... and they're reporting we're doing that in a last attempt sort of thing when it's been what we're doing all along.

Yeah maybe but how did the RS get Sebastian Coates past the work permit barrier - you can't say he's "exceptional talent" can you?

Rules changed as of May this year, he would not have got one. According to the FA Bryan Oviedo would also have not been permitted under the new rules.

Think the FA and home office might use this transfer to make a statement they mean business and reject it.

Was thinking of this when you said this first time round.

You're right, Oviedo MAY have not got in, but he probably would have because he featured a lot, the reason being costa rica are not a top rated national side.

But Funes Mori plays for THE top rated national side, and would have a lot more leeway in the exceptional player ruling.

The exceptional player ruling has been used easily. especially by chelsea in bringing in young foreign imports, who are in fact more of a risk than Mori would be as he alreadt speaks English and has won a lot of recognition and even gained his first cap and second call up, which puts us in a strong position.

Also they look at how many players the club is actually developing which puts us at a massive advantage also, we have the likes of galloway, holgate, stones, and many other young english talent which they take into account, because we're not limiting their chances at all.

....I really don't know. I'm sure there are plenty of other examples which suggests we employ inefficient lawyers. Mind you, we could be unlucky or part of a Home Office discrimination agenda.

Éder Álvarez Balanta

is maybe the reason we have been able to sign this player at what would appear a pretty good fee.
