I dont understand that system. Shouldnt these criterias be so clear that every team know if certain player could get one...all that scouting n work for nothing here (?) What a joke.
Well atleast Stoke mutants have a blast.

There is a process, and the rules are pretty clear. Under those rules, Mori doesn't meet the standard requirement for a work permit.
What we are going to be involved in is an appeals process, which is based on the "exceptional talent" claim, and that is us basically trying to convince the home office (I think it's them) that he is worthy of a work visa.

Weird...

well how long would it take ? Theres not much time like..

Thought it was strange he was sitting there tbh with the scarf on, i presumed it was done because you know, who would get a player to fly 5000 miles with his family, to sit and watch a match with a scarf on from a different club and then not sign them...

I know we have had phantom bids before but fack me, thats a new level.

We must know he will get a work permit, otherwise i feel really sorry for the lad.

Sadly it was fairly obvious that he would not get a work permit based on the stated criteria and the desire to see less non EU players coming here.

This was signposted by many of us prior to the weekend.

The real question is how Chelsea get a permit for Kennedy.

It is justified on the basis of exceptional talent.

Who are the panel taking expert evidence from ? Tim Vickery ? - no hope for us then!

As Ijjy says this may be no great loss - who knows, we may even suceed on appeal ( though I doubt it ) - but yet again shows the people running Everton up as a bunch of amatuers

I've always thought the work permit system can be a little unfair at times but just as confusing too. You could be a brilliant and successful player but for a nation where you just cannot get a game so you're never going to meet the 75% quota. Then there's the "exceptional talent" cop-out which more often than not works but it's like, why bother having the first rule if they can just go straight for the second after it fails?

I feel sorry for the people who fail both though and never get a chance to progress their career abroad.
