He played well in his first season when the back four was made up of himself, Coleman, Baines & Jagielka/Stones. Granted that was two years ago now but there shouldn't be a reason why he couldn't form a decent partnership with young Mason who's been staking his claim this season.

Also, Happy Birthday Ramiro.

He's got bottle at the very least, which has been in very short supply in our rearguard this season. Definitely should be thrown back in as soon as he's ready. Williams obviously should never play for us again, Jags probably shouldn't either so that leaves either Holgate or Keane to partner him. Keane's performance against Burnley was so dreadful that Mason seems to be the obvious choice for now.
