Well my issue is not the ability to sign someone, but the efficacy of whoever is brought in is always going to be a problem. As we're lining up, we only need one striker to hold up and finish chances. Playing second fiddle for months and then being expected to turn up big time is no easy task however many you've scored at your last club, like.
I don't know, i'm not saying it's dead easy to find the right player, but I think that's overcomplicating it a bit to be honest. Most clubs have players who aren't in the strongest eleven but play a part over the season, coming off the bench and starting a few times, we're not exactly in a unique position.

Really good window and more outgoings will happen before 16th. Might even be more in .. done know much about Olsen but competition for Pickford is good ...as bad as he has been and as stupid as he is the win win is Carlo gets in to his head and he improves .. exciting times

When you consider Utd Spent 20 million more than us I think it has been a strong 8/9 nothings perfect but this window has been close..

9, sorted out our none existent midfield and the lack of creativity, got a new keeper and a top talent in Nkounkou, got rid of some dross aswell.

would’ve been a 10 if there was more of a cull

It has been an unimaginably good window.

Carlo , Brands and Moshiri have transformed the team in 1 window , incredible.

Of course there are still weaknesses but , come on did you expect this ?

If 8 was an option I'd probably give it an 8, at best.

Amazing window but some real glaring issues that may solve themselves over the course of the season:
  • Is Olsen good enough to keep Pickford on his toes? Areola would've been a better option (Fulham) on loan and there's many goalkeepers out there to choose from. If Pickford steps up, it's not a problem but it feels like a gamble to me.
  • If any of Richarlison, James or DCL get injured the drop off in quality is big. We could've really used a fourth quality option to keep the competition high and allow for any injuries.
    • I don't think we've heard the end of this given the Championship window is still open - there's a few players such as King that I can see us going for.
  • Right back wasn't strengthened and Coleman tends to get knocks these days. Hopefully our comparatively light schedule keeps injuries low.
  • Again, one that might sort itself over the next two weeks but we still have a lot of dross in the squad that are draining the wage bill.
If anything we should do another poll after the window fully closes if anything changes both incoming and outgoing wise.

Pound for pound it's easily the best window I can remember.

Damn close to perfect, if we got in a better keeper and another option up front especially with players leaving would have been a spot on 10.

and, technically, we still could bring a player like Sarr or Benrhama or however you spell his name..

Everyone going on about a Kean replacement ? What is that about ? he couldn't get into the side and anyone can sit in his seat on the bench .Give me strength .I am not saying he is no good just that he did not have a significant enough effect on the team to warrant a direct replacement .
I think the point is, if DCL and Richarlison are injured at the same time (and that is probable) who then fills that void as central striker?
I believe it was the right thing to allow Kean to go out on loan due to body language as much as lack of goals, it’s just we are light in that dept as a result and letting him go also wasn’t the absolute priority in terms of moving on deadwood. Therefore in my opinion getting a young, hungry forward from the championship AND moving on Bolasie and Besic would change my rating from a 9 to a 10 for this window.

Hopefully this is just the start of things to come and in the next two windows more progress is made!

There was a reason we bought Kean though, despite already having DCL and Richarlison. The fact that it didn't work out isn't really the point, the issue is that we needed another good attacking option. Ideally I would have liked that to be Kean suddenly coming good, but if not I think we need somebody else who could at least be a functional player in the system when called upon, and who could regularly come on for 20/30 minutes and freshen things up. They don't have to be a world beater but I do think we're one short up there. Maybe something will happen with a Championship player or free agent.
