RB Leipzig

RBL Matchday

Squad are back in league action this afternoon after the very disappointing exit in the CL to Faust's warriors. Very tricky game against an in-form Frankfurt side who sit in 4th. Few changes made from mid week but going up against Kostic and Andre Silva is always a nightmare so would take a point here despite being at home and on a long winning run.

Game is LIVE on BT Sport ESPN from 2.30pm

RBL Matchday

The lads are back in action away to newly promoted Arminia. RBL have never lost to a promoted team nor a game on a Friday night so all the signs are pointing to a massive upset. Nagelsmann promised changes and there are a few tonight but it's another, I think, outing for Tyler Adams at RM/RWB which makes me wonder if this manager isn't a little bit overrated. Ibrahim Konate still weirdly isn't fit enough to start; can actually see the club allowing him to go in the Summer with his injury history. Disappointed to not see starts for Hwang or Samardzic in a game like this.

The match is LIVE on BT Sport 3 from 7.30pm

0-0

It’s like 90/10 in the possession stats but they’re set up with a load of short tricky attacking midfielders and no forwards against a narrow low block team. Even I know that’s not really how you set up a team to win.

1-0 FT

Dominant performance (over 1,000 touches) but still painfully boring to watch. Despite being only 1 point behind Bayern and still in the cup it just feels like the team are going through the motions. Some 2022 contracts to sort out in the Summer but a refresh is certainly needed.

Well that's signing number 3 in the bag for next season sorted (4 if you include Szoboszlai who likely won't play till then). Promising French - of course - Strasbourg CB Mohamed Simakan (20) arriving till 2026 for a fee around the 10-15m mark.

RBL Internationals

Mixed start for some the Bulls on international duty. Justin Kluivert's Netherlands U21 only managed a 1-1 draw with Romanio in the opening fixture in the U21 Euros with Kluivert providing the assist from a corner on the Dutch goal. Bright performance though which will hopefully continue when back in Germany. Brian Brobbey came on as a late sub. There was also a winning start for Sorloth's Norway team in the WC qualifying stages after a routine 3-0 win against Gibralta. Sorloth managed to bag the opener from a corner. Josep Martinez unused sub for Spain U21.
