RB Leipzig

Guess that’s also the consequence of being a smaller mainland European country too.

Apparently it was chucking it down from midday in Austria but strange how they only called the game off at KO time. Surely they’d have known sooner haha. Hopefully rearranged for tomorrow or something to give me something to watch.
Tbh the way it's been around mainland in recent days - it was 35C all day, 1 hour of absolute bollocks raining down, now it's calm and back to being painfully warm. Mad stuff, but can see why.

I mean it is, but we're also corrupt - we're the same or bigger in statute and potential than all our neighbours and ex-Yugo countries, and we used to play Croatia et al extremely competitively up until (I wanna say) 2007? But that's no more as we're now turbocrap and corruption runs deeper than actual FIFA and all of those countries will obliterate us tbh.

I remember I had a book for a WC or a Euros which had Romania in and maybe Bulgaria too with some legendary players. Probs couldn’t name a Bulgarian now Berbatov has retired.

CEO Mintzlaff's first interview of the new season that "officially" starts tomorrow. Mostly fluff piece but tonight reports came out the new DoF, who was apparently selected before Christmas, now has been rejected as someone new became available a few weeks after the cup final. This new DoF though won't be presented till the transfer window closed. Maybe Michael Edwards? Who knows.

Didn't they hire Mario Gomez in that or similar role in the beginning of the year? Are they firing him now? lol

Nooo he is part of Red Bull Soccer, like a technical director of all the clubs, but focused mainly on the US and Brazilian sides - I believe...

In a recent interview he spoke about making sure these two sides were successful in their own divisions (Brazil are) and not just feeder teams to Leipzig. I think it was all smoke and mirrors because I believe that's exactly what they're pushing for now.

Leipzig have the biggest chance of actual profit and important wins/trophies, so defo smoke and mirrors.

I've misunderstood his role then - tbh wasn't very invested, just remember talking about it with a friend relatively recently, cuz I think he (or maybe we read it, honestly don't remember??) said that Mario Gomez is basically 'back home' from some reports, idk.

Honestly it's quite hard to keep on top of the role. He's Tech Director of Red Bull Soccer, but doesn't have any power or influence over the technical director of each individual club. I don't even know who those people are in Brazil and America after Kopite Kev left Red Bulls. They certainly feel like 3 very separate clubs lately though which I'm all for but kinda wondering where all these Brazilian wonderkids are going to come from.

Confusing ffs.

But yeah my logic was that maybe he's their guy as per the 'he's now working from back in Germany' and all that. Realistically anything is speculation I guess.

Honestly at this point, it's like why the eff are they bothering if leaving it till after the transfer window to announce lol business has still been happening for the past year. I was hoping they'd be able to get Christoph Freund from Salzburg but sadly doubtful he'll leave there.
