RBL Transfer News

Figured I'd fire the thread back up now internationals are done and contracts are coming to a close in East Germany:

- Janis Blaswich (GK) and Maarten Vandervoordt (GK) have already signed this Summer with the former becoming the new number 2 to allow Martinez a loan/sale whereas the latter has gone back on loan to Genk for the next two seasons for more experience before he likely replaces Gulacsi.

- Kampl and Halstenberg both extended contracts and will remain as cover.

- Youngster Tom Krauss (CDM) sent on loan to Schalke with an obligation clause inserted if they don't get relegated. Silly move by the club.

- Other youngsters likely to be sold are Frederik Jakel (CB) and Eric Martel (CDM) which again would be silly moves by the club and causing friction in the media.

- Nkunku is due to sign a new contract, till 2025, that includes a €60m release clause that activates next Summer protecting his value. If someone pays €100m he can leave this Summer.

- Josko Gvardiol, linked everywhere, likely to stay.

- Problem children Brian Brobbey and Ilaix Moriba, both up for Golden Boy 2022, are likely to be shifted on again with sales preferably although not sure about letting Moriba go as his attitude isn't as bad.

- Ademola Lookman, Alexander Sorloth & Yvon Mvogo are to be sold after Hwang's deal confirmed to Wolves.

- Angelino rumoured to want to leave and go back to Spain but zero links to replacements so far so doubtful. (#Pray4Raum)

- Same as the above for Mukiele but the strongest replacement link was Kristensen who ended up in Leeds for a cheap price.

- Central midfield is the huge topic of the Summer. Currently it is: Laimer, Haidara, Adams & Kampl with the bold all looking to be moved on leaving just a slow 31-year old in the middle (also why selling Martel would be bizzare). Laimer is wanted heavily by Mr I Won't Raid My Former Club Nagelsmann in Bayern with a €30m release clause expiring in a couple of weeks. However, there is one central midfielder rumoured to be incoming but he is to replace Adams/Haidara...

RBL are expected to pay up to €12m (low fee due to contract expiring 2023) for Wolfsburg's Xaver Schlager who I absolutely adore so this is brilliant if true. Robust, left-footed & physically immense defensive midfielder whom Everton could have done with going after for that fee.

RBL Transfer News

Well after selling top academy talents Krauss, Martel & Jakel the club have now inexplicably also decided to sell wonderkid Sidney Raebiger. I have no words - this club has turned very odd this Summer. It's like City selling Foden as he was coming through. They don't need the money so no idea why a loan wasn't the option.

For next to nothing as well (according to what I could find?), and with a 'significant' sell-on fee % for a future transfer.

...?

It's like €1m or something - absolute madness. Isn't even a buyback option involved. They've been absolutely hammered on social media today because on the same day this rumour started and the impending sale of 2 other kids (as well as one other 15-year old who is leaving) they released an article with the academy head who talked about pathways, successful academy stories etc. It got so much backlash they've removed the tweet of the article and even the article itself from their website lol

Yeah have seen between 750k-1m€. Bizarre lol

Understandable, I'd be a bit miffed too if we sold... erm... a good player from the academy???? for next to nothing and out of the blue.

Apparnetly Tedesco rated him as well, which makes it even more of a weird decision.

I understand it from one side in which the club become so elite there isn't room outside of the generational academy talents but they're not there yet and these are players who all play for their country, most got decent experience on loans & also play in positions that require bodies.

If it was like a 2-year loan, whatever, good experience for the kid but selling him for buttons has blown my mind. Like I say, the club this Summer are turning into a bit of a circus.

Maybe they're such geniuses that it looks like they're doing bad business but in reality they're two steps ahead!

It's not bad business per se. In terms of the first team squad they've signed a belting midfielder with 1-2 to be sold. It's just about the future, the local identity and the point of having an academy. They're basically telling the world it's just a cash cow which is fine but won't help kids want to choose to go there.

RBL Transfer News

There we go - Nkunku tied down on a new deal till 2026 with a new release clause (around €60m) which kicks in Summer 2023.

Also heavy links this morning with a move for Ajax’s Edson Alvarez to replace Laimer.
