It's the final day of thet training camp in Tyrol and with that comes two friendlies in one day! It will be 2 x 30m matches vs Ipswich Town and Werder Bremen with the former coming up first. The lineup for the first game has been released and I can't work it out whatsoever. There are 2 CB's playing, one winger playing RB and absolutely no idea who is playing LB... it's just fitness of course and be good to see all the boys get an hour of work in.
First friendly ends with a 1-0 defeat to Ipswich. Game was devoid of any quality, once again played on an awful pitch and once again showing this new 3rd choice keeper to be worse than me in nets. From the lineups I think Rose is showing a quite clear 1st and 2nd string designation to each of the players. Only Novoa stood out for Leipzig this afternoon.
Now it's time for the better (hopefully) XI vs Werder.
Second game ends in a 0-0. Werner (of course) missed 3 really good chances. No injuries and minutes in the tank for all the players. One more pre-season friendly before the season starts proper.
Another out: Andre Silva (currently crocked) leaves on loan to Real Sociedad for the season with a purchase option. Always liked him, and he has a lot of good parts to his game, but just a touch too slow and inconsistent. Wish him well but he was right down the pecking order. Would definitely be bart of FC Sexy.
Leipzig decided to squeeze two more friendlies in one day ahead of the weekend clash vs Las Palmas. This time it is two games at the training ground with STVV up first before a match vs VSG Altglienicke whom I cannot pronounce whatsoever. Hoping to finally see some goals in these games! Rose has gone with his almost strongest XI for the first game with Openda and Schlager missing. Gvardiol watches from the stands as his move to City is almost official (medical Friday).
Sesko with another. Only blemish was a bad tackle on Henrichs' ankle which forced him off - hopefully only a knock (never thought I'd say that but here we are).
