RB Leipzig

Alan Shearer had it right with the celebration really.

Sesko is an amazing talent! I was a little disappointed he didn’t start today but Rose has got it right really with the new guys. 10 new signings but only 3 started today. I’m still expecting the first half of the season to be a rollercoaster though but it’s been really good. In the past you couldn’t drop the likes of Werner when out of form but there are two full XI’s now which is brilliant. I’m excited.
Interchangeable without a loss in fluency, there's some coaching going on here for certain.

I worry that the level of turnover is too high, but there is a process underpinning that has to be respected.

Oh it is extreme turnover but they’re used to it now. One thing they definitely do right with recruitment is personality. This is probably the chummiest group I’ve seen so far which helps. This was up there with the most mature RBL performance for me which is a positive as it’s not always the case. Nice break from Ev anyway.

Yeah, what a relief to watch a functioning football team, we truly are dross.

Randomly busy day in East Germany as after selling Caden Clark they've also sacked their U19 coach after 4 games and won a behind closed doors friendly 4-2! Seems like the only time Werner can score is when no one is watching.

Highlights from yesterday's 4-2 friendly victory. Some nice goals in there and blast from the past seeing Kenneth Zahore and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on the pitch. Fabio Carvalho with 2 nice goals - he'll have limited opportunities this year I feel so needs to try and buck the trend of PL loanees.

Curse of international breaks continues this season for RBL as Olmo will be out for a few weeks and Orban, never gets injured, has done his knee and might not be back till January. Central defence is already particularly light so goodbye title charge and will make the CL group rough if Lukeba isn't quite ready yet.

3-0 victory at home to Augsburg yesterday afternoon. Sounds like they completely took their foot off the gas second half and the scoreline was flattering. Win's a win though and up to 3rd in the table 1 point off the leaders.

Despite the win Reis is very, very much Sean Dyche.

In fact worse - Schalke played better at home last year in the BuLi, now in BuLi2 we're setting up to not lose instantly.

Like Everton most games then.

FFS naturally having 2 Evertons to watch, I must've been something horrible in a past life.

Least you won at the weekend! But yeh, I had them down as a strong contender for promotion but they just look a little too inconsistent so far.

Ouédraogo looks class though.

A win's a win and all but hoping for a miracle 0:2 to 3:2 is just not sustainable.

The players brought in are also very BuLi2, and not the "best in the BuLi2" type, but rather just aimed to be okay in the current league, disappointingly.

Some good ones though in there too as you said. Hope there's more to come but...

RBL Matchday

*sings the CL theme tune* and it's back! Midweek football finally and more RBL to consume. It's an away trip to play Young Boys at the amazingly named Wankdorf Stadium this evening which is going to be a bit more of a tricky time since they play on artificial turf. The boys only arrived yesterday and had one training session on the turf but it shouldn't be too unfamiliar to a lot of the European players who grow up on it - especially Scandis. Rose has gone with an unchanged lineup from Saturday's Augsburg win which was a touch surpriseding given the quick turnaround - really wanted to see the likes of Sesko and Seiwald get starts! I'm still expecting a victory here though.

Game is LIVE from 17.45pm on TNT Sports 3
