RB Leipzig

I was going to message you this morning when I read the Reis news. Proactive decision really - didn't want to keep dragging out poor performances like Everton would with a manager.

Maybe you'll do an Arminia and go down again lol
Proactive, for sure, but the signs were there. The thing is that it's back to no stability as the revolving door continues.

FFS don't wanna think about that lol Realistically the squad is good enough to do well in the BuLi2 but Reis is genuinely one of the worst I've seen ever for setting up an attack. Forget having a plan B, there's no plan A, no idea how we scored goals at all last year in the Bundesliga, other than heroics from a few players.

RBL News

Well, well, well nothing like a bit of Friday night drama in Eastern Germany. RBL have sacked sporting director (DoF basically) Max Eberl with immediate effect. He had only joined the club in December after his break from Gladbach but there have been constant rumours since Day 1 about him going to Bayern because he has very strong ties there. The question gets brought up fairly often, even after Bayern hired their own DoF (Christoph Freund from Salzburg), and he has never really been firm or committed enough. That is highlighted in the statement tonight by the club which is rather damning. Question is, where does he go? Bayern aren't going to sack Freund after just a couple of months and he's going to have unsettled many previously interested clubs.. Messy affair right on the eve of playing Bayern tomorrow.

RBL Matchday

It's time for vengeance! The 7-0 mauling is still looming large over in East Germany from last season and some records need straightening tonight with a much changed Leipzig taking on reignig CL and PL holders Man City. I'm expecting the same result though - just hopefully a better goal difference. RBL have only lost one game this season and remain unbeaten in two games vs Bayern also but this is another level altogether. It's a pretty straightforward lineup from Rose with Klostermann replacing injured Henrichs (handballs safe tonight) and Seiwald coming in for my nemesis Kampl (who's actually been unreal this season). Hopefully another banger home game and try keep the score down.

Game is LIVE from 8pm on TNT Sports 1

0-0

20 mins in and still 0-0 with City completely dominating. The game plan is sound though, it’s what the youth side used earlier today, but when they do eventually get the ball they’re being so careless with it.

Must be centre half contract day around the world. Captain Willi Orban also signing a new deal till 2027. Can see him retiring at the club and moving into a coaching role. Still the best centre half in the league by a mile for me.

RBL Matchday

Time to shake off the cobwebs and get out of the pity party from the CL defeat vs City with, what should be, a pretty routine home win against Bochum. They are winless all season so far but can be quite a tricky side at times however if Leipzig have the mentality, and the fitness, to shrug off Wednesday then it will be a welcome 3 points. There are only a few changes from the CL game with Kampl back fit, Baumgartner (very bright cameo) in for Forsberg and Sesko up top.

Game is LIVE from 14.30pm
