RB Leipzig

0-0 FT

Well I warned did they have the mentality to shrug off Wednesday night and the answer was no. Had all the possession but only created a couple of chances and if you miss two pens you don't deserve to win. It's not a defeat but a massive blow if you want to chase the title. Could be 5 points off top already if Leverkusen win.

Using your thread for my bros here but - Schalke have made a lot of changes in the last 5 days or so.

After firing German Dyche Thomas Reis, the new manager is the former USG manager - Karl Geraerts, who USG were happy with AFAIK, but who will also have a hell of a job ahead of him.
Joining him as assistant is former Club Brugge Head of Academy - Tim Smolders, also with a good reputation.
Also new CEO! Matthias Tillmann, who's the CEO/CFO of Trivago of all places is going to step in as CEO from January 1st 2024.

Overall not a bad haul and some are definitely good news, but the expectations for this year have now Everton'd and the goal would be to not be relegated and possibly finish comfortably mid table and build for next year.

3-1 RBL

Openda slots on the 75th minute after having one narrowly disallowed earlier (think it was onside myself). This one was called as offside too but after 9 hours of VAR, given. Can't see these ending with all 11 men - on 6 yellows already.

RBL Matchday

Back to midweek CL games and this time the start of a double-header against Red Star Belgrade (who go by a different name but I can't spell it). I recognise about 4 of their players and I guess they are perceived the worst of the group with Young Boys but no 3G pitch to cause issues. I'd say this should be a standard two wins coming up but nothing is ever that straightforward in this competition. It's a "strongest" XI for RBL too which is a little disappointing as I was hoping to see Sesko be given another start.

Game is LIVE on TNT Sports 6 from 8pm

2-0

The boy Xavi does it again. In the words of the commentator “banger”

Hes class. Having the likes of him and Olmo with Openda in the mix too is like a cheat code in that league. Henrichs is someone i thought would have been a good signing for us before we got Patterson.

Amazing Werner and Carvalho havent delivered...I actually thought the latter could have been very good.

Henrichs has been a lot better since Rose joined but he's still fairly average and should be upgraded. Werner has a severe lack of confidence and Carvalho isn't physically ready yet. Thankfully the squad is so packed they've been given time to get back into it.
