i have never heard of a non drinking policy like this. it is true that the stadium security will not let you in if you're shitfaced (just like everywhere else in the world).

it is also not possible to close bars just because you guys are in town. bern will be full of drunk people for it is the start of the carnival (sounds better than it actually is).

is there a person responsible for supporters interests? maybe this person should contact the bern police and inform them where you guys meet in town.

my advise: enjoy yourselfes and behave like normal drunk football fans.
Thanks for that Naughtyboy, is exactly what I was expecting to hear, can't understand why people post scaremongering rumours on here just for the hell of it.

According to Chief Inspector Charles La Rousse Dreyfus in yesterdays Blick Abend there will be a zero tolerence approach to policing visiting hooligans of FC Everton.

After consulting The CRS in Lille we have been informed there was widespread alcohol and drug abuse in Lille, we will do our upmost to prevent a recurrence on the streets of Berne. We are trying with the help of the legal system to enforce a citywide alcohol ban, if this can't be achieved we will approach bar owners individually and ask them to double the prices of all alcoholic drinks. Our colleagues at the Metropolitan Police in London have advised us that Merseyside is a disadvantaged area, and people are quite frugal, and they won't spend CHF20 on half a litre of pilsner. Supermarket owners have already agreed to impliment a no sale policy to anybody with an English accent.

As you know there is a carnival on that weekend, and no English hooligans will be welcomed. What we are trying to convey to those travelling is come to Berne, whatch the Football , eat some cheese, have a coffee and go home, or stay in Zurich, or Geneva. If you want to open a bank account you are more than welcome and the usual discretions will apply.

During the 1980's it wasn't unusual for thieves from Merseyside to operate in Switzerland, and we would like to reassure jewellers that anybody attempting to steal watches will be shot on sight, we will not risk the livelihoods of our local businessmen and women.

We have drafted in 1000 riot police from Zurich, Geneva,Basel, and Lugano. They will be assisted by teams of dog handlers, and traffic police will be conducting breathalyser tests on all approaches to the stadium. Water Cannon teams will be deployed, along with a fleet of rapid response Silver Hornet vehicles. Sniffer and Xray dogs will assist the local police.

We hope this will be enough to prevent any trouble, we are friendly people and hope the visiting fans appreciate our warm hospitality.

What about fans congregating in a certain part of town, banners, etc.? Bern doesn't seem to have a lot of open public space, though by the grounds it seems more open.

Spoke to club today no news on tickets or allocation until at least Wednesday next week.........absolute joke........
How long does it take to sit down and write out a priority schedule for sales......an hour maybe.......pure Everton.

I know, makes my blood boil how poor we are at selling absolutely anything from tickets to replica shirts.

I even said to her that everyone knows we have 5-6k and she cited how busy they were with lpool, palace and now West Ham tickets......part of me hopes they get stung and foot the bill for say 1k unsold tickets......might teach them....

When I bought my Wolfsburg tickets they actually did themselves out of £6.50 with a horrific exchange rate against themselves ......hope they didn't do this 2500 times

I agree. This is probably going to be the first time I ever get to buy "official" away tickets, but I still need to know if I can get them off the OS or have to buy other seats nearby off the Bern site (like with Wolfsburg). Those who need to sort out flights and other travel are even worse off.
