Monchengladbach will be very similar to Newcastle in that they are a one club city. Just had a quick look and they have a population of around 255,000. The German clubs have big followings, but unlike the English, they have a much more respectable pricing structure meaning that they spend far less on match tickets.
Something that did surprise me was that they took 8,000+ to Rome. very impressive, and I also saw that some of their fans were stabbed. I wonder why the German's aren't put off by Rome like the English fans are? Are we treated far worse over there or not? Doubt any English club would take 8,000+ to Rome these days unless it was a Semi Final.

I just dont really care if we are 'the best' or not.
sorry
yes...who cares. as a fan you're just a little part of something bigger. that should do.
Cant wait to go to your country, just cant wait.
i have cleaned up the place, the bears are feeded and combed, the beer is ordered. it's all shinny and nice.
we are ready for you blues
Fair enough comment for most matches. But I'd still rather have a Goodison 'bearpit' when it does get riled up than a shirtless fat neo-Nazi 'capo' bellowing through a megaphone to his followers about what to sing for 90 minutes. (Not referring to Bern with bears or neo-Nazis, by the way.)yes they are. but for the lower leagues english fans are the best. and for the premier league...you are all seated against your will, can't drink a beer while watching the game and the prices for a game is so high the average worker can't afford it. there is not much noise to expect. i used to like the english support, but nowadays every stand is singing the same old songs 2-3 times a game...it's boring and without passion.
sorry guys, the old days are over
