REACTION: Everton Draw BSC Young Boys

We can't simply play our first choice players in each of the next five games. To get the best possible return, we'll have to spread the load across the whole squad. Barry is suspended for 1 PL game, and I assume Lennon isn't registered for the Europa League.

There is an almost infinite number of variations, but - trying to play people in their natural positions - we could start something like this;

Young Boys; Robles/Coleman Jagielka Stones Oviedo/Barry McCarthy/Mirallas Barkley McGeady/Kone

Leicester; Howard/Coleman Jagielka Stones Baines/Besic McCarthy/Mirallas Naismith Lennon/Lukaku

Regular players like Coleman, Jagielka and McCarthy will benefit from a rest too. The team for the return match with Young Boys will depend upon the score in the first leg. We can rest some players in the Arsenal game and turn out our best available team against Stoke.

What exactly is our first choice mate?

Because I guarentee what I or you think is first choice isn't the same as the managers.

And Kone hasn't travelled. Nor has AIDS.

I've been overtaken by events!

The next five games are a very important but difficult run for us. I just want to show how Martinez has to look ahead.

I expected to see some young players in the squad. And, who knows, even Hibbert might reappear soon.

My line up.

Howard
Coleman - Stones - Jags - Garbutt
Besic - Barry
Atsu - Barkley - Mirallas
Lukaku
-Howard deserves to keep his spots.
-Garbutt deserves a game, keep Oviedo for the weekends game. (Presuming Baines is still injured.)
-Might as well play Barry considering he can't play on the weekend.
-Atsu deserves a chance based on his AFCON performances alone.

This all makes sense, i'd go with the above. Naismith needs a rest/would be useful impact sub. Would love to see the young striker come off the bench and for Barry to be withdrawn for McCarthy at some point though.

.

At least two.

10 yellows = 2 match ban
1 red = 1 Match?

Possibly 3 games.

Oh actually, ignore everything. I'm completely wrong.

Clearly 10 yellows = 2 match ban
Ten Yellows, but also a red in same game = 1 match, how does that work?!

Either way, i agree that Barry should start.

Well, that's a good question. Based on league appearances, it seems to be;
Howard/Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines/Barry McCarthy/Mirallas Naismith Barkley/Lukaku

How many times has this team actually played this season? I don't know, but it was the team that faced Stoke. Result; Everton 0 Stoke 1.

I'm not not sure where that leaves us.

Barry went into Wednesday's match at Stamford Bridge on nine bookings for the season, one away from a two-match domestic ban. He then picked up a yellow card in the first half, triggering the suspension, but was then booked again late in the game for a tussle with Chelsea midfielder Willian.

That meant Barry was sent off - and the red card he received not only overrides the two yellow cards, but also only brings a one-match suspension, according to Football Association rules. As a result, the midfielder stays on nine yellow cards, still one away from a two-match ban, which would come into force if he was booked again in a Premier League game before April 12.

I can't see him surviving until mid-April.

Blessing in disguise for us this. Lose Barry for One game, get him back, lose him for two more!
