Barry went into Wednesday's match at Stamford Bridge on nine bookings for the season, one away from a two-match domestic ban. He then picked up a yellow card in the first half, triggering the suspension, but was then booked again late in the game for a tussle with Chelsea midfielder Willian.
That meant Barry was sent off - and the red card he received not only overrides the two yellow cards, but also only brings a one-match suspension, according to Football Association rules. As a result, the midfielder stays on nine yellow cards, still one away from a two-match ban, which would come into force if he was booked again in a Premier League game before April 12.
I can't see him surviving until mid-April.
