You did it, you ledge!

I’m just making roast cauliflower and garlic soup (courtesy of Waitrose magazine) and a salsa verde cos I’ve got loads of herbs to use up!

I know it’s not recipes but it’s a start
Sorry Noisy. I waited and waited.

Yum, I love cauliflower soup and salsa verde. How do you make your salsa? I usually make mine with tomatillos, onions, cilantro, cumin and oregano.

Forget all that eye wash about pre boiling and goose fat for the perfect roast potato.

Just buy a baking potato, or 2, do not peel, cut to sizes that you like, pre heat an oven, (180), and cover them in veg oil for about 20 mins. Turn half way through.

I guarantee, they are potato perfection.

Sound advice this, when your 17 which is when I met my significant other, cooking skills was the last thing on my dirty, hormone riddled mind. If only I knew then, look for rich parents and good cooking skills!
Very much so and it should go both ways. I met my husband when I was 18 and I had no cooking skills. Growing up in Colombia I was fortunate that my family always had a lady that cook for us so I never had any reason to learn until I got married. But then at the age of 20 got my first recipe book (this was before the internet was regularly used), and discovered the joy of cooking.

I like to add garlic to chilis and curries only in the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. This way you get a great garlic hit, without it being too overwhelming and without the flavour being cooked out.

It also gets rid of door to door salesmen pretty quick.
I'm assuming you are talking about minced garlic?
