I too use mushrooms as a meat sub. Oyster, Cremini, and Portobellos are also meaty mushrooms and good for substitutions.

Thanks for clarifying! I was about to say that we Colombians use the same culinary delight lol so do you purchase the chinese spice mix or do you make you own ?

If you oven bake a portobello then coat in in breadcrumbs it makes a decent burger sub. Slice of lightly fried halloumi, red pepper chutney lettuce and a nice brioche.

Yummy. I usually put some pesto mayo on my brioche.
Before baking the portobello it is important to remove the gills. To remove the gills, first use a paring knife to trim out the stem, then scrape off the gills using the edge of a teaspoon.
Never stick your fingers in the blender when its turned on.
