The new HTC one is meant to have a ridiculously good display that's higher than the iphone5

The display on the Xperia Z is the best available at the moment. All depends what you want your phone to do. I love that the touchscreen still works on the rain though.

HTC one is supposed to have the same resolution as the Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet (1,920x1,080) into a 4.7-inch screen. "That's more than 2 million pixels, yielding 468 pixels per inch (ppi)"

Very moody.

Yep, but as your eyes can't detect the difference ...... It's just specs :-)

Launch event today. Already hands of reviews/previews from the tech sites.

They're taking a gamble of the camera. It's 4mp but then sensor is twice as big as what's on the market in a phone so it takes better pictures especially in low light. But there's no comparisons yet.

Gamble comes from the 4mp angle. Most consumers think higher mega pixels means better pictures... Which isn't the case.

Launch event was yesterday. It's a stunning phone, but no mention of HTC's Achilles heel. For once I hope they shove a good battery into the thing, bit I wouldn't hold my breath. It's certainly the top dog Android phone (spec wise) for the moment. Samsung has their event next month. Where they'll announce the successor to the S3.

It's Sony that has a launch event today, the PS4 ........ Yes I have too much time on my hands

The launch stuff clogs my emails up, I get confused lol.

I did read they've upgraded the battery, but yeah, dunno how long it'll last

Praise Be for Mobile Phone Insurance, through Barclays account.

Daughters Nexus 4 was 'dropped' about 1 1/2" when she was putting it down on a wooden table, the back of it that is made of glass just shattered, its not just a cover either, half the phones gubbins are attached to it. I reckon it'll be a cheque off them to buy another tbh as there dont seem to be spares available for them.

Just bought a Nexus 4 and recycled my S3 for the same price.
No brainer really, lovely bit of kit.

Slightly conscious of the glass back though as Reidy pointed out above, may have to break tradition and buy myself a case for it.

I have insurance from barclays, £15 a month, 2 phones, gadgets upto £750 (camera & 2 nexus tabs), car breakdown (top bollocks cover for all europe) & travel insurance for all 5 of us. The car cover alone should be about £300 a year apparently.

Still gonna get a case as well though, cheaper than the £25 excess, phone covered twice in any 12 month period btw
