The S3. Unlimited texts, reasonable amount of minutes and 750mb.

Then I don't see why not. Everyone offers unlimited texts thees days, it's pretty hard not to get that. And the minutes are not unlimited, and the data is less than a Gig.

At worst you'll need to put some cash towards the phone, but it won't be loads. £100 tops I'd imagine. But you'll no doubt be holding onto a phone for 2 years, so it's always advantageous to have the newest that's on offer.

If you put any cash down on the phone, most likely you'll be able to get it back in cashback from Quidco or Topcashback

26 quid a month.
Lumia 820. Unlimited internet. 600 mins any network or landline. Free same network calls. 600 texts.

price wise the nexus 4 and a £10 sim is cheaper over 2 years.

I actually always go for paying for the phone up front, and then going on a sim only deal. But a lot of people can't plump down the cash in one lump sum. Being single and childless has it's advantages lol.

The nexus 4 is a cracking buy though, and it's actually in stock on Google Play for once. Bit anaemic on the old storage front mind, but hey that's what happens when the networks control everything. And you can shove Ubuntu on the handset, genius!

Anyone watching the PS4 event live right now? I'm not even a gamer, but it will be interesting to see what they've got up their sleeve. it's just about to start, they're on stage

Android is better than anything you have, unless you have android too.

It's a bit wizzy, but if you don't need access to the file system it's just a bit of window dressing Chico. iPhone still has the dominant number of apps, and the security. Malware is a major problem on Android, and the networks control everything. That's why you typically can't get the higher capacity handsets. If Android totally took over, it would be consumer hell again with the networks in control of everything and everything locked down. You can't upgrade to the latest builds of Android with some of the handsets for months, sometimes never.

Android is fine, but it's far from perfect Chico. Ubuntu has the ability to offer something truly different, whether it does or not will be another matter.

But you don't, you just convince people that if they get the same phone as you they have the wrong phone

It's a particular art of mine.

I once caused absolute meltdown on one of them nerd gadget review sites in the comments section by telling apple devotees that they didn't know what they were talking about and stuff like that. I got 500 word essays as replies and stuff.

It's mad how people become so attached to their devices.

Lol that's quite funny

I once had a rebuttal off this guy telling me how he was on lots of forums, not just the one I was on, and therefore he didn't care. I'm sure he was trying to prove he was king of the nerds or something.

Some people are just kopites, there's no other word for them. Totally delusional and overly defensive, it makes sense to poke fun at them :stick:

Agreed mate, it's too easy.

We all know android is the best anyway so what's the point?
