Launch event was yesterday. It's a stunning phone, but no mention of HTC's Achilles heel. For once I hope they shove a good battery into the thing, bit I wouldn't hold my breath. It's certainly the top dog Android phone (spec wise) for the moment. Samsung has their event next month. Where they'll announce the successor to the S3.

It's Sony that has a launch event today, the PS4 ........ Yes I have too much time on my hands

For all its premium, metallic construction, the One cuts a relatively light figure, weighing in at 143 grams and measuring 5.4 (137.4mm) x 2.7 (68.2mm) x 0.37 (9.3mm) inches -- a thickness that puts it on par with the BlackBerry Z10. Take note, that slim silhouette accommodates for the integrated 2,300mAh Li-polymer battery, radios for WiFi a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and 32GB or 64GB of storage (sorry, there's no slot for microSD expansion).

Yeah, i am not sure that 2300 mA/h is gonna cut it with the 1080p screen and the Snapdragon blazing. Who knows though, maybe they have got usage down and optimized it like crazy (no accounting for those dastardly 3rd party apps that throw all the hard work out of the window. Angry Birds......looking at you!!!!)

Hmm when you out it like that. It is a step up over previous batteries, and even the Sammy S3. But it still falls short of the note, and until its in the wild we don't know how resource hungry the handset is. On paper it looks ok, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. The battery isn't user replaceable, so no aftermarket mods.

I think (and purely my own speculation) they are just trying to match the average life of the One X and it's 1800maH battery. I think they are aiming for a day of light to medium use between charges.

I can say I am underwhelmed wiht the One X battery, so if they only match that run time I will be disappointed.

However, I am excited to see how this camera turns out. The megapixel = good quality pictures is a myth. Case in point is the plain jane iPhone 4 with its 'only' 5 MP camera is still up there near the top of the smartphone camera quality. So seeing a bold lens go into a smartphone is going to be great! Plus, honestly who has actually needed to look at a picture in full 8MP resolution outside of a photographer (who isnt going to be using the phone to take picture)
