Redundancy help

Got me first job interview. Date TBC. It’s with an industry rival/competitior who we have worked with before. Would normally feel bad on my current employer but the way they have treated me, I shall be taking sick leave for the interview.
Good luck with the interview. ;)Hopefully it's somewhere that appreciates you.
P.S. A change in jobs is a good time to join a union. 👍If you should ever have to go through this again, you will at least have guidance and support. 💪

Had our briefings yesterday afternoon. 1 fella who has health problems took the redundancy. 4 of us where scored via a matrix. I scored too so provisionally safe. Me best mucka in work is at risk, hoping he stays but I think he might not fight it and jib it off. He’s more worried about losing his company car as never had to own his own car ever as always worked in telecoms.

The whole thing has been bloody. I’m still applying for jobs in the meantime.
Myself personally, I'd fight to make sure I was kept on. Then once sorted find a new job, quit and leave them short of staff. lol

Scandalous.
If you have an interview, take the redundancy and get paid twice. Staying on to then leave means someone has been forced out for nothing.
Bigger picture.
