Redundancy help

I guess in some ways it’s better than Jan when you may have raked up a load of credit card debt on presents. That’s what companies would argue anyways.

Sometimes you can be a good, hard-working employee - they don't need much excuse they are the paymaster - end of - the old case of if your face fits etc - nepotism etc

Hi all,

Has anyone been through redundancy before? I am in a team of 5 that they need to cut down to a team of 3. They have said they want 2 people to take voluntary redundancy or we have to start a desktop screen process next week. Basically got told today. People have until tomorrow to tell the company if they are willing to take voluntary redundancy. If not they will score us via some matrix and let us know on Monday who is for the chop. We will be gone on 30th of November. It all seems abit rushed. Is this normal and ok process? Nobody in the team had an inkling this would be happening. Also our manager is getting the hook and he was unaware.

I’m not apart of a union and only have a months notice to give so does that mean am fooked?

Might need to set up a gofundme page to solve my Bucky and tennants needs @COYBL25

Had our briefings yesterday afternoon. 1 fella who has health problems took the redundancy. 4 of us where scored via a matrix. I scored too so provisionally safe. Me best mucka in work is at risk, hoping he stays but I think he might not fight it and jib it off. He’s more worried about losing his company car as never had to own his own car ever as always worked in telecoms.

The whole thing has been bloody. I’m still applying for jobs in the meantime.

Not a good experience to go through. I went through the same a good few years back when not long got a mortgage. I scored high on the scoring matrix was safe but still decided to look for a new job.

Was the right thing to do as not long afterwards everyone else was pretty much made redundant.

Agree with this mate. The past weekend was terrible. I worked it also but actually think it was better I was working as would of had a drink and probably would of felt worse.

My mate who’s being made redundant just been and got signed off sick by the doctors. Hope he plays the company and gets as much as he can now.

If I get any calls for job interviews now I’ve sent me CV out I’ll be taking them.
