Referees v Everton

Yes, about 4 people on this thread saying it isn't a pen will all be rs fans as well. You call it being objective, I call it you being stupid. He gets stood on and pushed so you can take your pick which one he could have given it for. I never said Matip should have been given a red either? It's a pen, not a red.
The problem is how Gordon's right foot and Matip's foot come into contact when they were initially alongside each other. Deep down I think we all know Gordon has played for it. He is the one who has changed direction and is actually not following the path of the ball.

He needs to cut that element out of his game. He did it for the penalty against Burnley but he is going to end up getting a reputation. He is constantly looking to initiate contact and win free kicks.

I thought he was excellent today and looked a real threat but sadly let himself down a couple of times today.
Gordon.webp

And your actual evidence for this nonsense is ?

No, he doesn't. I agree that they get more pens than most, as did MUFC, but that usually comes because they have some attacking intent.

My evidence is that we had a clear pen against Man City not given to get a draw and today at 0-0, we had another clear pen not given against Liverpool.

If that incident today was for example, against Brentford, the ref would have no hesitation to give the penalty. It would be like second nature.

Substitute Dawsons name with Matip

No attempt to play the ball and denied a goalscoring opportunity .
So Dawson gets red...we get zilch.
I hope you don't get the game you want if you think that's a red. Probably more of a case for a red against Alexander-Arnold in the first half.

It thought it was a penalty (soft but still a pen), and there was a case for Mane to be sent off too. I think the reason the penalty wasn't given is because the ref had it in for Gordon after the first half when he thought he dived.

Well we got one lets be honest - the narrow offside. I could list plenty over the years against us.

Certainly over the years but in the here and now we didn't get a pen we should have got today but did get a questionable one in the win there last season.

If there was an agenda against us then it'd be easy to send Richy off for kicking out and have us without our key man for 3 crucial games in a relegation battle.

All this it’s a pen it’s not a pen, those thinking it wasn’t just imagine if that was Salah in front of the Kop are you telling me that doesn’t get given? Imagine them lot on sky would be talking about it for months, should city win the title because of that, can you imagine it, well that same decision went against us and it was purely down to the ref and lack of VAR, it’s corrupt to its core. Just a side note that lot are also the ones who wanted to make a breakaway league, all gone quiet on that hasn’t it.

So you use that as actual evidence that the Premier League or TV companies are instructing the referee's to rig games. Laughable.

I dont think it was questionable last year. Whether the defender meant it or not, he brought down Calvert-Lewin with an open goal waiting. Its a foul.
