If we can somehow beat Fulham next week it's going to look so much better with Leicester and Forest both unlikely to pick up any points.
I cant look past this as being an important week of the season so far, partly becuase we have so few games remaining, I`m sure there will be more towards the end of the season but a win v Fulham and other results going the way we hope would see us 3 clear of the dropzone...

Then we just need to match the results of those below us, or at least avoid winning 3 less points.... which I see as more than achievable.

I`m just praying to the football gods we can get it done before the last game, we got lucky twice before on the last day and Bournemouth have the ability to pull out important wins.

They've lost 4 games in a row, the guy who scores half of their goals is suspended, as is their manager. They can't make Europe, they can't go down and we're at home. They're only ever won once at Goodison in their history. If we can't win we are in big trouble.
Is the only bit we need to be concerned by, Everton that!

I think it’s getting more likely to be any 3 from 4, us , forest, Leicester and Southampton. We have to win against Fulham and Bournemouth, and not lose away at palace and Leicester and perhaps wolves. Nothing from the other 3 games. And HOPE that’s enough.

Win or down next week really. If Leeds win today that’s 4 in 7 for them. Bournmouth and WH have picked up wins. We are creeping along getting valiant draws but our form in terms of point generation is worsening every week.

A loss would see us still probably ahead of Leicester next weekend, but for all the talk of improvements we just can’t go 2 win in 8 in such a desperate situation, that’s just not showing that we have woken up enough. I can see Leicester fluking a couple of wins despite how broken they look. I thought our new approach would see us right but it’s not making us win or really look like winning (admittedly against tough opposition in the last 3). Urgently need to prove to ourselves we can actually get a win over the line instead of praising our ability to not get battered as badly as we used to.
Jesse Marsch will wake Leicester up with his high energy football, mark my words don`t start banking on Leicester being "Nailed On Relegated".....

Southampton need 4 more points than anyone else from their next 8 with Liverpool, Arsenal, Brighton and Newcastle 4 of them 8.

Forest have a bad run of fixtures coming up with Man Utd next then Liverpool and then Brighton, Brentford, Chelsea and Arsenal from their other 6 fixtures. I just dont see them putting together many points whatsoever.

Leicester have City next but in the next 7 they have Wolves, Leeds, Everton, Fulham and West Ham. All are winnable with the talent they have in that squad if united behind a manager, if Marsch can do that I think they have a chance.

The question is, if Leicester get out who from above are we targeting to get above? West Ham have a very tough run in, Bournemouth fixtures looks very favourable.... but the onus is now on us to put points on the board... it`ll be tight but I just worry that other teams have the points on the board already. Alot of teams are already on 30 points so by quite a few estimations from posters here they only need 5 or 6 points form the next 8 games. I think the survival target will be more towards 40 than 35 and I worry for us, not saying we are going before any of the usual trolls jump on me, but it is worrying.

3 points v Fulham will quell them worries ever so slightly......

I really don’t want it going to the last game, like the Wimbledon and Coventry seasons, it was horrible..

But if you offered me now - beat Bournemouth at home on the final day and we stay up, I’d take it.

We are at a stage where draws are no good for us, obviously you take that over losing but if we drew our last 8 we finish on 35 points....

Wolves already on 31 with 8 to play, West Ham already on 30 with 9 to play, Palace on 30 with 9 to play, Bournemouth on 30 with 8 to play with the easiest run in, Leeds 29 with 9 to play.

Would you be confident 35 points would keep you in the league this season? We need at least 10 points IMO.......

35 points should still be just about good enough, but would be aiming for at least 38 to be confident of staying up, still be a fre mad results this season

So if leicester put a run together they take points from all the teams around us.

It’s very likely now it’s going to the last game of the season unless we pull off an away win and not lose to Leicester. That is the big one. Stay above them before that game and do not lose.

Based on what? he is a dreadful coach who is all talk but can't put that talk into actual action, his teams are always far too narrow and make it easy to play against. He is already on a losing foot as not one single Leicester fan actually seems to want him there and if you believe some of the stories neither do some of the players.

but he's american and LAFC are worth more than West Ham or something

Oh, and at some point we actually have to start beating direct rivals. I’m comfortable with that because if we can’t then we rightfully go down unless there are three implosions below us. Lose to, say, Leicester on May Day, and I want to see no tears from the likes of Doucoure, Iwobi, and Coleman.
