Let’s not forget the boards role in this diarrhoea of a season, no striker in the summer we wasted 5 games playing with Anthony Gordon up front , banked everything on Dominic Calvert-Lewin being fit when the lad has been unavailable consistently last 18 months, then failed to sack the hapless lampard after two hammerings at Bournemouth in 3 days, they waited till the very last day of the transfer window to get dyche in because they had no intention of providing any funds for any sort of striker, this allowed the terrible lampard to burn up 4-5 winnable games.this is all before the headlock lies that tried to paint evertonians as bad guys, has 1 board ever done so much to get its own team relegated, and still they hang on because nowhere else do they get financially recompensed for this much incompetence .
Yup. There does come a point where if you keep making unassailably incompetent and neglectful decisions, that it has to finally catch up with you.

We may very well have reached that point. For now, we live in hope that Fulham can be beaten and we can build a life-raft to safety over the coming weeks. But we're in very dangerous waters now and I would not want to be relying on Leicester staying under the surf for us to stay afloat.

On that over-extended metaphor, I'll get my life jacket.

People laughing at Benitez but he’s far more likely to get a short term tune out of Leicester than Marsch
This is where I agree with you, Rat.

The Senor is a clear and present threat should he take over there. He got a bounce out of us. He could get one out of them. For all the hatred and invective spewed his way by sections of our fanbase, the reality is he is a highly competent manager. He may not be what he was, but it would be the most "Everton, that" moment ever if he keeps them up at our expense.

Talk about karma.

Based on what?

He's not had a good time as a manager since Napoli, what was that about 10 years ago? He's washed.
Based on the bounce he had with us. He does not need to have "a good time" - copyright Bill Kewnright - as a manager. He needs to get a bounce. He got one with a similarly useless group of players at Everton.

Don't get me wrong. I hope he falls flat on his face and it's a death sentence for Leicester. But I think there is every possibility this comes back to be the horror show for us that @matty1878 suffers in his nightmares...when he can actually sleep.

Leicester need a bounce, not a Champions League win. Benitez is well capable of a bounce.

Really depends what the problem is there. If morale is low then Marsch probably better than Benitez to give them a lift. If it’s a lack of organisation then Benitez better than Marsch in the short term. But if, as it looks from the outside, the core of the team is either leaving or wants to leave and maybe have their heads elsewhere, when Benitez or whoever comes in tries to be super disciplined with them they might just laugh in his face.
