Which is why I said MOST teams, MOST years. There will be plenty of exceptions throughout the years.
It’s also why I said FOR and then EXAMPLE. We need to pick up points, as I’ve said before, when you don’t get enough points on the board against forest, villa, Leeds etc then you have to make up the shortfall by getting some unexpected results. At the moment our form is very concerning, not just in terms of results but performances too.

The core of our team looks loads better with Coady, Tarkowski, and Gana/Onana (and maybe Garner) in front of them.

I've bored everyone with my view about our attack but I'll say it again - I think any three of any of McNeil, Gordon, Townsend, Gray, Rondon, Maupay and we struggle to be competitive enough to stay in this league. We'll be asking players to hit numbers for goals/assists that they've never hit before.

If we don't bring in anyone else to fill the void that Lampard has spoke about then IMO, we'll be in a position were the difference between a relegation scrap to the wire, or mid table comfort comes down to Calvert-Lewin's fitness IMO, and even then - we've lost his biggest providers. We don't create a lot - 19th or 20th for chances last season, and 18th so far this season.

How we can bring in Tarkowski and Coady for no transfer fee, but completely neglect forward areas is beyond me.

Hope Calvert-Lewin can stay fit and hope we can stay out the bottom 3 come January and hope the club get their finger out and bring in some support.

Lampards right, there's a void in attacking areas. Replacing a player who directly contributed over a third of our goals last season in Richarlison with Maupay and McNeil doesn't bode well.

This tells me we’ve had a pretty tough schedule so far. We need points in the next 4 and we’ll slip down this if we don’t but I’m not panicking yet.

10 points from 11 games ratio isn't anything other than relegation battle, infact it would very likely be 10 points from 12 if the Arsenal away game had been played when scheduled.

Not good.

Critical four games before the break, has to be two wins and a draw minimum.

Still think we are better than we were at the same time last season though

Not reflected in points total I'm afraid. Last season's start did have a very easy run of home games but then again this season has already had the Forest game.

There were also far more goals in team this time last year, 3s v Southampton and Burnley and 2s v Watford, Brighton and Leeds I think. Problems under FSW were defensively.

If you finish 16th, then sell your only good attacker for 60m and then spend the money on other positions, then you will be lucky to stay up.

Our recruitment plan in the summer was fundamentally flawed. We decided to rely on a constantly injured player and sign a Brighton back up. At some point you get relegated when you continually make this many senseless and illogical decisions.

Now I still dont think we will go down this year, but I think we are going to go through the stress and anxiety of it again and it didn't have to be like this and it shouldn't have been like this.
