The board and Moshiri have killed us this year not bringing a CF in was bordering on criminal
We have scored 24 goals this season our 2 main rivals are Leeds who have scored 39 and Leicester 41.The hardest thing in football is scoring goals and we just can't do that.
I haven't given up all hope but I just can not see us surviving this year barring a miracle.
In fairness a fair few of us, myself included, said way back in September, even when it wasn't known that DCL would be out the entire season, that we're going down this season as we don't have the firepower needed. It's strange when fans with no insight into the workings of professional football seem to know more than those paid millions to run football clubs with tens of millions of pound turnovers.

Leicester will get a few wins under Smith who is underrated.
Leicester: yes, they stand a chance now because Everton haven't picked up 2/3 more points than they should have done in the last 3 games.

But it's all well and good saying that they'll get a few wins. How many weeks have we been hearing that? They've gone 9 games without a win in the last 2 months, and since the restart after the WC they've won 8 out of 48 points.

I'm as wary as anyone else about them getting a bounce from a new management team and a player like Evans back in defence. However, can a case really be made for them turning it around so comprehensivley that they leave us behind?

Yes, they have us at their place, but right now we have a 2 point advantage over them. And I dont see a great deal in it in terms of winnable final 7 fixtures.

Personally, if I were to make a guess about who'd get safe right at this moment - based on our last two performances - it'd be Leicester...even though Leicester dont really deserve it based on their terrible form. But if they dont beat Wolves next up that'll be two games into it for Dean and the storm clouds will still be hanging right over them.

I think Dyche will get them back competitive - honestly shocked by the performance on Sat our worst under his reign - for mentality and fight.

Mitigating circumstances are injuries and suspensions - but shows how poor the depth in the squad is as you say criminal.

Rockets need to be fired this week.

If I was offered the option of see how it plays out or take a win or relegated scenario against Bournemouth I would take the second option. Fingers crossed we can actually get to a point where its in our hands last game of the season. I was at the Palace game, but if it does happen again no celebrations, right into the board

I think the problem with this slump is that we've seen it before with FSW and Lampard not too long ago. Despite the improvements made by Dyche we are easily capable of going on very bad runs.

I'm trying to be positive but it just feels like we are the equivalent of Burnley last season. We don't score enough goals and there aren't four teams worse than us.

If we get our best starting 11 back and we beat Leicester then we can stay up. It's just about in our hands. But it's a huge ask for this squad of players.

I just don't understand what the club were playing at. Putting aside the huge amount of waste incurred before the last two seasons, they've still managed to make massive blunders when there was no room for error. Starting with the appointment of FSW, buying two fullbacks for £30m, Maupay and letting Lampard lose another 4/5 games before he got the boot. Just pure negligence.

Just gotta keep our cool guys. Saturday was harrowing and not gonna lie I was very low yesterday, but Leicester are not guaranteed any points (waits for someone to say they are against us etc...), Leeds are certainly not out of it, and even when I look at Bournemouth's fixtures I think they could be sweating again following the midweek fixtures next week.

Right now, it is still in our hands. Like everyone here, I also thought Fulham was a must win, but even so it remains in our hands.

The only game I think we are definitely going to lose is City. Even hard fought draws could be the difference at the end of the season.

I agree with that but I really fear that if we go down ( highly, highly likely IMO) we could become another Sheffield Wednesday.
With the millstone of paying for the new stadium around our neck we could be looking at financial oblivion.
Very dangerous times ahead.
Yeah, we could. No guarantees of anything now. That said, I am now beyond caring. I'm too beaten down by the pointlessness of our existence. We are a zombie club and have been for over 30 years now. The game, meanwhile, has moved ever-increasingly away from us to the point that it is now almost rigged against us. But we have not helped ourselves.

For example, I hate to break it to people, but if we move into a new stadium, fans are going to have to accept significant ticket price increases. The days of relying purely on a local fanbase have to go - not because this is a good thing for the game, but because that is where the game now is. This is what you have to do to be a top club: widen your support base and, sadly, dilute your ethos. I suspect our fanbase would be massively resistant to this reality - but that's another thing that will have to change if we are ever to revive.

Like you, I think we're in very dangerous waters now. But so be it. Until something significant changes at board and ownership level, it is futile to fight the good fight, invest everything in this Kenwirght plaything, and hope for a different outcome. Relegation will be disastrous - akin to burning the house down. Thing is, this house is a fire hazard and needs to be gutted. As the nefarious and mendacious Bill once said "Goodison might not get a safety certificate." Another untruth, of course, but his club culture certainly needs burning to the ground.

Bournemouth have at least another 2 wins in them. Puts them on 39. We aint getting anywhere near 39 points. Saturday was a killer. A 5 point gap over leicester was a must.
1 point at home against fulham and spurs who were/are dreadful just isnt good enough. But then neither are we. We cant score. We knew we couldnt score in january when we at least had a chance to get some in. Even a loan or two.
Kevin did fck all. The board did fck all. We are paying the price now that we all saw coming like an express train.
We have to hope forest and leicester keep losing. Thats our best hope.

21pts to play for.

In terms of results, there are going to be lots of twists and turns to come yet, there always is.
Like your optimism mate but after Saturday, i am not very confident that we could get any of those 21 points that are available. Even the fans at the match are struggling to get behind them and gee them up now. Hope we do scoop a few up though because we are going to need to.

I totally get fans frustration however what you have to remember is that we did actually do something. We spent 15m and brought in Maupay, so we did buy a striker. He was just the wrong one. Whose decision was this? Lampard? The 40m from Gordon as we all know will go towards book balancing for next years figures.

It has the feeling "they" will get us one way or another, either we shoot ourselves as we did on Saturday or get a points deduction next season.

I don't want relegation, at any price, but nor do I want season after season of this. In a sense I'm not concerned about the realities if we do go down. We'll have bitten the bullet then.

This is a form of torture for the club. All that's remaining is a formalised confirmation of our standing. The sense of surrealism will soon pass if the r word comes to be.
