Getting relegated increases our chances of silverware next season. This is all part of Fat Bill's master plan - bowing out as Captain Dwight McNeil raises the Papa John's Trophy after we beat Morecombe on penalties in front of 10,000 fans at Wembley.
Unless we drop 2 divisions straight away, that literally cannot happen as Championship teams don’t play in the EFL Trophy

Ped saying on Toffee TV that even if we somehow stay up, a lot of fans ignoring the fact that we could get a transfer embargo or points deduction for next season. Or even if we avoid those things too we’re still going to have to be careful with spending.

In other words, the squad will probably be mostly the same next season, so we will probably be in the same position again next season.

Who on earth has been 'ignoring' that?!?!

FFS.

Some people say stuff and it sounds like they dont give a flying one about staying up. That's what that comes across like.

The amount of Everton supporters subscribing to that surrender monkeyism is astounding to me. They must think it'll just be a change of scenery in the Championship for a season and then a return to the PL with the house back in order.

They're living in a fool's paradise.

I mean, sure - but one thing at a time.

None of us have the capacity to worry about next season's crisis while we're knee-deep in this season's.

Yeah, but a meteorite could vaporise all life on Earth in the closed season, so next season could be forever irrelevant.

We might enter the newly created M6 Challenge Cup and beat Chester City in the grand final at the Etihad.

It's just Chester FC nowadays. Chester City hasn't existed for at least a decade I think. That's the beauty of getting relegated - we all get to bone up on irrelevant, lower league football facts after we've been vanquished from our Premier League ivory tower!
