The reality is we need to take a balanced view….did I expect Southampton to get anything out of Arsenal. No - but they got a point. I did not expect us to get anything so getting a point maintains the distance with one game less to go, and wasn’t sure about Leicester so our result purely in isolation is decent, but when another team leap frogs you, it is cause for concern especially when you drop into the bottom three with only six games to go. I think other teams have wins in them far more than we do if we continue to be the lowest scorers in the country, so we need DCL to stay fit and we need Doucoure and Onana in the team staying fit, but it’s too close to call now and really for the first time since Dyche has come in, I am doubtful we can do it but we shall see.
ALL o the teams down there need things to go there way...why do people think that only Everton require this?

We won a point at a very tough away match today. I dfor one wont see it as a negative.

Leicester win one. Let's see if they can do the same trick again next match. If not then that's 1 win in 13 games.

You cant say that mate. We did second best this weekend out of all the teams you mentioned there, but the Death Cult says we have to take a draw away from home as a defeat and a sign of certain relegation...because we dropped into the bottom 3 on GD...but having closed the gap on Leeds and stretched it on Forest.

Whaa Whaa Whaa Whaa!!!!!!
My post is a pretty positive one. Our chances are close to 50/50

It’s not a negative result at all, but results do need to be compared….that’s what the league table is for, and having scored only 24 goals in 32 games, indicates that this season we struggle to score goals….there was a stat before saying that in 9 of our previous 10 games we have conceded an average of 2 goals per match, that’s 18 conceded whilst all season we have only scored 24 goals…..our defence is going to have to be water and air tight, to give any goals we do score a chance to win the match…..this is where my confidence is starting to slip….we look at past result to predict the short term future (in this case, six games) - yes the other teams have also struggled and could well do worse than us…..but we struggle to score goals more than the other teams in the mix (Southampton excluded who in my opinion are down - but even then who knows what confidence they have taken once the dust settles from yesterday’s performance) - I am glass half full and half empty at the minute, not one or the other….previously I have been glass half full

People can choose to look at it however they like, whatever gives them comfort.

Yes, a point away at Crystal Palace is a good result to 12-14 teams in the league.

But with 6 games remaining, sitting in the relegation zone, I don’t think you can take that view.

We need to turn draws in to wins in order to stay up. Draws will not save us.

Fulham and Palace are basically safe and we have 1 point from those games.

If we finish above Leeds and Forest we’ll be safe. They both lost today. The point helps us imo, I thought we would get battered.

Have to consider that 3 of the last 6 games are against brutally tough opposition as well. Not that the other teams have it easy but our form goes before us unfortunately

I see 1 win max - likely against Bournemouth. The problem with it being the last game as well means we could already be down before it if we start the match on 31

Certain facts are in play

1 win in 9 with the lowest goals total in English leagues means it’s reasonable to suggest we will struggle to win more than one of the last 6 for example.

Incorporating that knowledge into a prediction (which I have) does not leave that prediction as ‘totally useless’ as you seem to think

…..suggest you go the bookies and put that accumulator on if you’re confident.

Soton drew at Arsenal last night, Forest were close to getting a draw at the Reds today.

I’m not suggesting we’ll stay up but I’d prefer to hope that we can get an unlikely result or two. Pragmatism might say it’s unlikely but the history of my club says it’s a possibility.

Our fans are the best, sometimes things turn out. I’m not positive but I remain hopeful. I love a bet but I refuse to predict in this race.
