This is horrible! Hopefully Leeds and Forest do us both a favour. Yesterday wasn't pretty from us by any means bit after so long without a win I really don't care about that. 2 massive games for us both now

I think worst case scenario for us would be Leeds beating you midweek as I think you will grind out a home win against us. Maddison only out with an illness so should be back against Leeds?

I'm also inclined to think Leicester will do enough but I don't really see any case for Leeds in comparison to us.

Wins are like gold dust now. Leicester have an opportunity to pull clear, will they take it?

Leeds are more likely to win games but also more likely to lose them, than us.

My hunch is that come 5:00pm on the final day, we just might be over the right side of the line. It's more a case of the games ran out and there we are, by default. Not in the sense that we will have done enough by ourselves.

It really is touch and go. It was always going to be. That Bournemouth game at GP, I'm expecting that we will need all three points.

We're like a punch-drunk journeyman fighter now, behind on points after 10 rounds and needing to have enough left in the tank to swing a few wild uppercuts hoping that one or two will land, but not get floored in the process.

I always thought you would win yesterday, but Wolves taking the lead give me false hope lol, even when it was geting later i was hoping for you to draw/get beat, but you took the lead practically the same time Everton went down to 10men - so at that point i thought the worst lol

He should be yeah. Need Barnes back as well. I'm not so sure, you've had the better of us quite often recently. Even last season when yiu couldn't buy a win

Just don’t see where we’re getting the points from.

Palace and Fulham represented a great chance of points before a hard run of games including Newcastle H, Leicester A, Man City H & Brighton A.

We didn’t take the opportunity.

I see Southampton, Forest, Leicester, Bournemouth etc have all shown ability to fight.

We just feel like we’re going down with a whimper. It’s sad.

It wasn't an easy watch! After 30 mins I was resigned to relegation. It's the hope that kills you though

Don't forget we made you look like the Leicester of two years ago earlier this season. I'd make you strong favourites given our away record.

It's wishful thinking. There's very little to suggest we will stay up under our own steam. By the same token, Leeds and Forest are in the same boat. Southampton too, and they have points to make up on even us. So, the hope - or what remains of it - is that we are fractionally less crap than the other three. That's not a blind hope. It might even be the most likely outcome. But it's the agonising wait for that outcome to reveal itself that is our ordeal now.

And, truth be told, if we do somehow stay up, what's going to change? Dark days for Evertonians.
A week ago Palace had become an in form team. Yesterday they were back to their mediocre self. Of our remaining games the only one I'm not expecting points from is obviously City. The other games are winnable...with a bit of luck. Everyone's nerves are kicking in right now, not just ours. All teams around us are capable of freezing on the day. As I said, other than City it's a mugs game predicting where we pick up the required points.

I tend to agree. My disappointment/sadness right now is we are not good enough to save ourselves cleanly. We're, basically, trying to stay up by default. So, morally, we deserve to drop in my book. For so many reasons. The real frustration for me is that we didn't remove Lampard after the Bournemouth debacle in November. I have no doubt the new manager would have gleaned more than the one point Frank did from the Wolves, City, Brighton, Southampton, and West Ham fixtures had he come in during the World Cup. That was one mistake too far for this club.

We're primed for the drop now. Any three from four.

Lampard was completely out of his depth but they didn't want to act because he retained the backing from a lot of fans. Basically they were too weak to move against him at that point.

I think this is different to last season because we still had some good games that we could target. Palace and Brentford at home were winnable as was an away game against a terrible Watford side. We haven't got that this time apart from Bournemouth on the last day when it could be too late.

You say they're winnable but we've won something like 2 away games in 2 years. Potentially only the Wolves game against a side with nothing to play for as well.

The one thing sustaining me is we are not shipping hammerings. We tend to be competitive in most games. If DCL is back, we've got more of an edge up front than we had. So, there are grounds for hope. But, as I have said all season, if we're relying on DCL or other clubs to get us out of this mess, well, we're asking for trouble.

I wouldn't be optimistic. Nor would I condemn us to certain doom. But it's touch-and-go now.

Post lampard The Fulham game , feels like ‘that moment ‘. Most of us went into that with a degree of confidence but that’s all but disappeared now .

A point at palace is a decent result but 2 points from the last 4 games is less reason to smile . The teams we’re battling with are below us in the form table because we’re all crap and deserve to be there . I hope we can get something Thursday but it feels like every game is us kicking the can , “hope we get a win against spurs “ , “you know we can get a point at United “ , “Fulham are missing mitrovic and there for the taking “ , “maybe palace will take their eye off the ball and we can snatch all 3 points “ and on it goes .

There is still a fair bit of football to play and Calvert-lewin’s return with doucoure coming back bodes well but we’re running out of opportunities.
