Frank proved he was, underneath, a terrible terrible manager by getting battered by the same poor team twice in a matter of days. Literally had all the issues laid out that needed solving for the 2nd game and solved none of them. That just cant happen at any level. Should have gone straight away.

But…

In a weird way I sort of worry that we won’t be going into the next 2 games with the players being questioned about their balls, and being told that Everton fans are spending most of their disposable income following the team up and down the country even though they were crap footballers. Demanding players look the fans in the eye on the coach welcome and take their headphones off and listen to the passion and desperation.

The team tomorrow, I fear, will be told to concentrate on themselves, trust the process, be consistent not just game to game but the through the 90mins, control the controllables, ignore the league table and just check it after Bournmouth. Getting a bit pee’d off with the cliches now. Get on with it, like all the other struggling teams have in the last month.

Crap players playing in a controlled, composed, relaxed manner are still crap and will get walloped. Too late for all that now. It’s not allowing fear and adrenaline to do what they are supposed to do. Set them all on fire before they walk out on the pitch. I hope behind the scenes they are being tongue lashed every day and left in no doubt that are probably taking one of footballs most historic and decorated clubs out of the top division unless they f’ing wake up and fight for it, instead of working out which low-mid table PL team’s bench they can sit on next season.

Those who think relegation is death - look at Burnley.

They have just enjoyed a fantastic season.

I'd actually rather the joy and enjoyment of that than another of feeling sick to my stomach in a relegation battle next season.
Said this earlier on in the thread, but you can’t compare us to Burnley, who’s new owners run them in a half decent fashion. 90 Million hole in our finances when we go down, and already under investigation. That is the difference between us and Burnley. We are not a Burnley, we are a Sunderland

….but we are a club that has been grossly mismanaged & that is just as likely to have grave outcome for many years. If we go, we will have to rid the club of its sickness & that won’t be easy.

it was my fear all along with our plight, our club is rotten except for its supporters and tradition. We have been woefully let down.

Let's hope we win later tonight (as it's now Midnight). Then if we win, we'll go from there in a positive mindset, if not, we panic and worry again.

Supporting this team should come with a health warning.

If it we're only that easy.

My concern is losing our record of nearly 70 years without relegation. The team who has spent the most seasons in the countries top flight. A premier league ever present.

Records like that actually make us relevant still and relegation takes that away.

I'm actually feeling pretty confident. Newcastle already have top 4 in the bag and are far better at home. We should basically have our best XI available under the lights. Last night's results should give the players a sense of urgency. Enjoy the 3 points

Managers don’t bankrupt teams, clueless owners do
And surely most of what Lampard done at derby was around Loans from the likes of Chelsea, Not that I really cared or looked into Derby's signings then but I can't remember anything standing out in his time there.

I think they were already sliding in trouble and banked on promotion which never came.

Everton are not relegated, even a loss tomorrow is not the end of the world. The key game is the Leicester game. Ideally, Forest would have lost and u would get points tomorrow but the money game is on Monday night. As regards for someone looking for attention, it sounds like it is you
I didn't say that Everton are relegated. I will only concede that when it is true. As for seeking attention, I was referring to @matty1878 not your good self. Most of us like him but he is a self-confessed drama queen.
I have got nothing against you so no need to be sensitive just because you are getting flak from other posters.
If you check my posting history you will find that I really don't say much that attracts attention. In fact, if I was you, I really wouldn't bother because I am a really boring sod.

If we win against this brilliant Newcastle team it will go down as one of our most important and most famous victories of the Premier League era.

The pundits are talking as though it will be a cricket score, but it's only a few weeks since we beat the league leaders Arsenal.

And when Goodison is rocking anything is possible.

However, if we lose against Newcastle as expected then we will still only be 2 points off safety. Realistically, though, if we were to lose tomorrow night... we would probably have to beat Leicester next Monday to have a really decent chance of staying up.

Wolves and Bournemouth are also very beatable
