We'll need to win at least 2 of our remaining 5, maybe even 3. hard to see to see where those wins are going to come from. Leicester is more of a must win than must not lose. One hope is that Wolves and Burnley might be safe themselves with little to play for in the last 2 games but are we good enough to take advantage of that, not right now

Yep we need to do that. This is not a case of the players massively under performing. This is our level based on ability, squad balance and depth

This is the biggest concern. We will lose a generation of Everton supporters.

We didn't just lose tonight, we surrendered. That's the most galling thing. There are no leaders on the pitch and as soon as the going gets tough they fold.

We survived on the last day in both 94 and 98, but although those sides lacked quality they had some fight in them. We don't appear to have that this time.

There are still 15 points to play for so it is still possible that we could yet get out of it, but all the evidence says we won't.

Come on Everton prove me wrong please.

I'm shattered watching us these days as it is. I'm not sure what league we play in will make much difference to that. Relegation will be horrendous for the club, football wise and financially, but I would get over it and life would go on.

Very sanguine.

Unfortunately though it's not as simple as that. These last 5 games could be the last seasons at the top thousands of Everton fans ever see.

We're not set up to come back up in the next few seasons. This is a generational shift to the lower league.
