I’ve never been one to believe relegation could be a good thing for a ‘reset’. I think it’ll be an absolute disaster and I think the magnitude of the situation after 70+ years in the top flight will be a huge shock to the system. In that context, I wouldn’t be surprised to see us battling relegation in The Championship next season.

But having said that, Everton have done absolutely nothing but rattle around the Premier League without being competitive for decades. We’re not competitive in cup competitions either. We have a loser mentality and have Kenwright’s mediocrity engrained in the club.

So despite the dangers that relegation will undoubtedly bring (and I suspect the next few years will be the worst period in the clubs history), it is probably the one thing that can ultimately be a catalyst to force positive change. It simply has to for an institution the size and potential of Everton. It’s either that or a total collapse in to nothingness.

You're 100% correct. For all of us who have seen us been successful will be oh so aware since the turn of the 90's and particularly since the start of the PL
we've just been a club that makes up the numbers. It's no joke to say the David Moyes days when we had stabilised and had positions of 5th,6th,7th and a 4th and we thought THEN that we should be better as a football club Everton should be challenging for the title (when we were classed as best of the rest) that that would be a good era, and since then we've declined rapidly. Relegation would be a disaster but it's been coming and we thoroughly deserve it.

I'm not sure how some of you have the energy to even contemplate Leicester.

We have a gang of con men on and off the pitch.

Part of me thinks if I knew the club future was guaranteed id happily get relegated if it meant I never see the likes of Iwobi etc playing for us again.

I dont want to stay up to see the same idiots get away with it again like last year.

I'm exhausted, exasberated and at ease with relegation.
If we go down itls not about the club or the players. It's about the mental deterioration of tens if not hundreds of thousands of our fans.

The quality of our lives will decline.

That's the real cost of relegation.

People can stick their 'Championship revival' up their 'kin hoops as far as I'm concerned.

Mate. I'm completely drained from watching these lads over the last five years.

Id pay to get rid of some of them whatever division we're in.
I support the club Everton FC not this gang of cowards.

I am not happy with going down or see it as a positive going down. I just want change at this club now, i kno this will break alot of fans what is going on but we must fight this board now

some 20 minute turn around...

I’ll say this to some of the older heads on here. It’s one thing you seeing Everton be dominant, even winning leagues, or even competing for the cup competitions. Since I and many others on here were born we’ve not witnessed Everton win a thing.

Now our biggest prospect of winning something is the championship, and we’re probably not even gonna do that.

That’s grim beyond belief. Never did I think that was even remotely a possibility when I was a young lad growing up watching this when we were at the very least a consistently top 7 team, nevermind us now probably not even being good enough to win the bloody thing.

Anyone under the age of 27 has literally never had a true moment of triumph or joy with this football club, and that’s gonna continue for some time yet.

Massive this yano Dave. I know some of us have a laugh in the ale house but it will genuinely cripple livelihoods and like @GrandOldTeam has said before it will probably cripple the forum and it won’t go on. It’s bad times.

Too much of the 'get the board out' mantra has affected our survival chances. The club has been split top to bottom and it's heavily contributed to where we are. So all the picchforkers can do one.

Yes we need a new board...but we were getting one anyway. We didn't need a cadre of self appointed social media biffs to get that next season, it was happening come what may.

There is NO upside to relegation. NONE.

That's not really addressing my point.

You are saying our mental state will deteriorate.
Well I'm sure most Everton fans aren't cocka hoop with the club as is.

If relegation means I never see the likes of Iwobi, Godfrey, Pickford again and this board go then I'd be instantly feeling miles better.

I guarantee any fan would.

Equally being in the PL isn't exactly a barrel of laughs is it.
